Has this been documented anywhere? I've tried finding mention of it anywhere but all I can find is that Terry acted like any other owner when it came to drafting a franchise QB. - zdp1189
The Bills organization flew out to see josh in March 2018, before the draft:
Terry and Kim Pegula
general manager Bradon Beane
head coach Sean McDermott
offensive coordinator Brian Daboll
quarterbacks coach David Culley
assistant general manager Joe Schoen
It really wasn't an easy flight, either. Brandon Beane tells the story, according to USA Today:
We were coming in over the mountains, and the plane started just going like this," Beane said, bobbing his arm up and down. "Literally, our heads are going of

Has Pegullaville tried to de-legitimize the win over the Patriots from last Saturday night? Examples: Mac Jones is a rookie, the Patriots defense was missing key player, if the Bills had played the Broncos it would've been much closer and not a blowout - RichardRoma

The only thing I remember is hearing that T-Pegs wanted Mahomes - Stripes77
You really think the most "hands on" owners in sports didnt push their young first time gm and head coach into picking who he wanted?
They flew out and met with Allen, then when the texting thing came out, they spoke to him directly.
They were comfortable drafting him, because they "knew" him.
Probably spread the texting thing just prior to the draft ☝️ |

The story I recall is that Pegula did want Mahomes, and Whaley said he would draft him if he wanted him to. However, Doug Whaley and his staff also knew they were getting fired on the following Monday, and that McDermott and co. were just using that staff because they had all the scouting in place. Remember, Brandon Beane wasn't hired until after the draft that year. McDermott wanted to be sure "his people" did the scouting on such an important position.
This is all a long way of saying that Pegula did indeed want Mahomes, but McDermott talked him out of it, and Pegula deferred. Whether that's because McDermott took the job on the premise that things would be done his way, or he just made a very compelling argument, nobody can know for sure, but Pegula did defer to McDermott because he trusted him. He has never shown that same level of trust in anyone on the hockey side, and although hindsight is always 20/20, he hasn't really had any reason to.

NEWS: Sources tell @DailyFaceoff that #NHL will no longer test asymptomatic players and staff following the All-Star break, provided Covid-19 rates continue to decline around the league.
Testing will only then be for cross-border travel (as required) and if symptoms arise. |

Drafting 2 LD #1 OA is going to force a move, at some point...unless they are really comfortable with someone making the switch to RD long term. I'm sure it's on their minds. - Lunaion
Not necessarily
Pitt has played Malkin & Crosby on separate lines for years
Obviously that’s a different position, but there’s no reason they can’t each play 25min a night on 2 separate pairs
Some would argue that’s actually ideal
And at the end of games, they could always be paired up temporarily if needed |

they gotta upgrade that defense next year...dahlin is turning into a stud and joker has proven competent riding shotgun...that's not to say that they haven't had their problems both individually and as a pair, but they're trending in the right direction...after that?
aye carumba...bottom-pairing, maybe a no. 4 in pyssboi, but that's about it... - Michael Pachla
Just looked at a mock draft that had us taking Savoie at pick4 overall
I think most here would be happy with that, as he’s a dynamic offensive player, and a center
Obviously we still need a long term partner for Power though
IF we can’t sign or trade for someone….
And maybe this is just wishful thinking….
Could we package something like:
Olofsson & one of our other 1sts (or both of need be?),
to get into the top10 & grab Nemec?
He seems like he’d be a great long term partner for Power or Dahlin
Idk…. teams don’t usually trade outta the top10
But just a thought i had
Bc getting Savoie would make one of our top9 forwards expendable |

I think GMTM was given the authority to pretty much do whatever
He just screwed up so badly, that (imo) it caused the Pegulas to lose trust in future staff
And frankly, the future staff had its hands full just trying to dig ourselves out of the giant hole gmtm dug for us
It seems as though they’ve blacked off recently, at least to some degree, and are letting Adams run the show
But trading Jack & Sam basically meant starting a new rebuild all over again….
so we’ll see how patient they are if we are still losing like this next season |

Yeah, of course
I think everyone recognizes our 2 biggest holes for next season are top4 RD, and a Vet goalie (of quality) to pair with UPL
Rumors (on here at least) of an Olofsson trade could bring back a top4 RD
There are some quality RD available in the draft,
even with our later picks
And if we go that route, there’s a handful of potential UFAs we could go after as a stopgap- guys like:
Josh Manson, Anton Stralman, John Klingberg, Justin Braun, as well as others
We’d likely have to overpay anyone who’s decent to come here, but as long as it’s not long-term i wouldn’t see it being too big of an issue |

#Giants are interviewing #Bills exec Joe Schoen a second time, as @NYPost_Schwartz reported. The interview is occurring this morning, source adds, so the team is moving on this process. Could speed up from here.
If the Bills can keep Morgan I would be okay losing Schoen, they can't lose both this off season. |

Yeah, it’s at KC
So that’s fair
I think it’ll be a good game
Could turn into a shootout, where the team with the ball last ends up winning it |

Beane was in on Josh before Pegs even met him sounds like from this article. |

And the big question is if the Org will even try to fill those holes if they're planning to tank again next year 🤢. |

Well sure
He was obviously evaluating Allen all year long, watching his college games
And likely the same the year before
Pegulas still could’ve given their “stamp of approval” though,
and been like, “Yeah, this is the guy we want”
How exactly it all happened is just speculation though
None of us know the details & exact timeline |

Yeah, over/under is 55.
Weather looks like it won't be a factor, so this should be a high-scoring affair.
Gotta get Mahomes to throw some INTs. |
