Is Palmieri cleared to play?
- Cptmjl

I am pretty sure he was a "healthy scratch" the last 3 games.

Parise can't score to save his life all the sudden. I mean we are waay past the point of a bit snake bit at this point. They guy seems to have 2 or 3 great opportunities that he created with hustle and just can't finish. truly shocking at this point.. not like this guy wasn't a goal scorer in the past.
- niteislander

He's played great so far. The points aren't there but he's contributed almost every night.

NEWS: Sources tell @DailyFaceoff that #NHL will no longer test asymptomatic players and staff following the All-Star break, provided Covid-19 rates continue to decline around the league.

Testing will only then be for cross-border travel (as required) and if symptoms arise.

Palmieri is on IR. Not sure when he went on it, but he's still listed as of this morning.

He's been on long enough to come off whenever, at this point it's probably just Lou keeping things organized the way he wants it on paper. Or maybe he's close to 100% but they're just giving him more than enough time to heal up and rest before they throw him back in there. He's not gonna sit on the sidelines forever, even if he's not playing great.

It was nice to see the Isles playing with a little desperation. While I agree that Bellow and Barzy looked a little out of place. I would still leave him there again tonight.

My reasoning is that the other three lines looked solid.

- Nfdbulldawg

Going to agree. The other 3 lines were clicking and Barry should give Bellows time to get accustom to Barzal who's not the easiest guy to play with. It would also be nice to see them together when Barzal is buzzing. The last 3 games other than his goal from a nice pass from Bailey he's been invisible accept for the occasional give away.

It's a sprain or pull that just needs rest. ( so someone said ) When he's ready to go I think Barry will put him back out there with Barzal and Lee. He didn't score but the line had chemistry and looked better than what they have done lately the revolving door on the left side.

My guess is Palmieri gets back in line up tonight on top line and either Bellows or Wahlstrom get seat.
- niteislander

I could see that happening after Trotz comments on Bellows. It does not seem like he was happy with the performance. However, given the way the team played as a whole, do you make those minor changes?

Are you looking at the weird entry on the calendar on the team website? I don't think it's PPD, I think it's just listed very oddly on there.

If you're not looking at that...I have no idea. This is a rescheduled game, so maybe it's not appearing in certain places?

I would have to agree. While he has not had puck luck..I hate that term. He has given 100% night in and night out. He is a back checking machine.

Game will only be on EPSN + tonight. If you do not have that you are sh!t out of luck. I am not buying another platform to watch the games. I think it is bullsh1t what the NHL is doing.

Actually it’s showing PPD on my Yahoo Fantasy app.

Must be a glitch though. Can’t find an official PPD announcement anywhere.

I catch most of my games at the pub, or listen to the broadcast via the NHL app. Much cheaper that way.

I have absolutely zero issue with Parise. Frankly, when Palmieri is back...I'd like to see Parise move down to the 4LW spot and let Martin sit. Martin has had a pretty lackluster season, even for him. Parise adds quite an element of speed and a little skill to the other two guys on that fourth line.

But regardless of any of that, Parise has been a great signing so far. If the points start to come, it just gets that much better.

But when Palmieri is back, I'd really love to see:

Lee-Barzal-Wahlstrom
Beau-Nelson-Bailey
Bellows-Pageau-Palmieri
Parise-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

at least for a few games. I love Martin, but I don't know what's been going on with him this year. Maybe it's whatever nagging injury he's dealing with or maybe his physical style is just starting to wear on him...but he hasn't been effective at all.

Weird, maybe the glitch is that the game was PPD and it's still just showing that way on the rescheduled date?

Speaking of which, tonight's game is only available by streaming on ESPN+ or through Hulu. I believe the Kings game on the 27th is the same deal.

My old streaming site got taken down, but for anyone who doesn't have ESPN+ or Hulu:

So far I've found that www.nhl66.ir has been a very good quality replacement. I have two ad-blockers installed on Chrome, so take this with a grain of salt, but I haven't found any issues with sketchy ads/malware...but use at your own risk. Game will be on about a 30sec delay from the live feed, so if you happen to peak at Twitter during the game like I do...you may catch a spoiler or two. Fair warning.

Wildschwein had asked in the last thread. You’d move Mayfield!?!
Who would you replace him with?

Rasmus Ristolainen as he will be UFA next season. He has good numbers. Again, I move Mayfield only if the offer is to good to pass up or it really addresses the team needs.

Given the CAP Space you could just add Ristolainen next year.

Pullock Pelech
Dober Ristolainen
Mayfield Salo

That is not a bad backend.

Ristolainen is absolutely terrible. Philly would probably give him to us for free before tonight's game

His defensive game is replacement-level. He chips in a respectable amount of offense, but he is incapable of playing in his own end

Yes, the game against the Columbus blue jackets is postponed b/c they are playing the Flyers instead in Philly. so if you show up to UBS arena tonight you will find plenty of parking but zero hockey.
