I think that depends on what you'd potentially do with Strome. If you are going to resign him for certain, Pavelski makes sense in the fact it's just bonus if he'd resign here.

If you are on the fence about Strome, then JT Miller makes more sense since you can actually get a few seasons out of him here. Especially if you think Barron can move into the 3C as soon as next season.

I think Strome has shows his worth the past two years. He has become a solid 2C.

I read somewhere that he was on list of LTIR players but it was obviously wrong.

I don’t understand why we would get Chairot. We have 4 kids ready to play every game and he’s basically Nemeth. He isn’t necessary

How close to a regular lineup will we have tonight?

To answer Jan's question:

Yes to JT Miller ( with retention )
Luke Schenn

For:

2022 Unprotected 1st Round pick
2023 2nd Round Pick
Chytil
Kravstov
Lundkvist
Robertson

Rangers get Miller for 2 playoff runs and upgrades the teams biggest weakness. Rangers only lose one current player from their roster. Also removes the Kravstov distraction from the team. Obtaining Schenn allows Rangers freedom to trade Nemeth now or is at the very least an upgrade over Tinordi should someone get hurt.

Canucks get Chytil to replace Miller in current lineup. They get 2 picks to aid their rebuild and an opportunity to get Kravstov back into the NHL. They get a future 2nd defense pair with upside that will greatly help their rebuild. Most importantly, they don't add much salary cap here.

This is a costly price to pay for the Rangers, but you have to give to get and Canucks retaining allows us to have a signed 2nd line center for NEXT year. WIN/WIN

And a leader. I was a little shocked when I checked out Miller's stats yesterday. I didn't realize he had been so consistent with the new level of play. But, I am still a believer in Strome. He seems like a guy everyone would love to have as a team mate.

I agree hes good with gaining and holding possession, but its what happens after that which is kinda neither here nor there.
- aecliptic

Exactly. His strength and skill along the boards really got me excited last year, but he hasn't busted loose and broke toward the net enough. When he has, it's been memorable, but we need more from him.

Tonight and Friday. This is go time!
I was looking forward to CAR/BOS last night. By the time I turned it on, it was over. I think Igor will acquit himself a little better than Rask, though.

That is stupid. Maybe instead of suspending people who don't want to go, they should try to plan an event people might want to attend.

it's ridiculous they are having the damn game when there are teams that need to make up 12 games (TWELVE!) like Ottawa does

I've been seeing that a lot on here of late and haven't looked at the numbers. Can we really? Who are we losing other than the proposed trade pieces? We have 2 big contracts kicking in and others to be signed next year. The $3.5M in dead cap space that is coming free won't go far.
