I, personally, would rather have the C depth. The gap for the team isn’t the top 6. Chytil is showing he can be that warm body on the right side of Panarin/Strome. I’d like to see what Miller can do with Laf and Goodrow. It just feels like a more complete team than stacking the top two lines.
If that doesn’t work, go back to the drawing board and move Strome to RW. - Bean_Dip
I feel similarly. I think upgrading 3C is huge win in itself for face offs and 3 zone play, but feel the impact on a guy like Laf could be even greater. Like him with Goodrow on the 3rd line like you mentioned as long as they can get enough ice time. Laf has shown that when he gets minutes he can produce.

I actually agree with your thoughts on the probability of the team winning it all. Where we differ is in the wild card nature of your assessment. The makeup of this team is A LOT different than any other team that hasn’t made the playoffs in a while.
There also was an injection of playoff experience onto the team by the likes of Goodrow, Reaves, Nemeth, etc. - Bean_Dip
Hasn't Colorado and Vegas gone into the playoffs the last few years as favorites? What has that gotten them. Once playoffs start anything can happen |

How many times has the Presidents Trophy winner won the Cup?
They just shouldn’t play the games because they didn’t make the playoffs last year. |

Irrational Exuberance rules this board. Temper expectations juts a little. The team has progressed nicely, but lets not be patient and let the kids grow a little, lets just trade them away for what we perceive as a quick fix, cause you know, it has worked so well for us in the past. Whatever you ass clowns want to say, the playoffs are a different season and this team hasnt been there in 4yrs so they have zero playoff experience. I dont think there has ever been a team that has missed the playoffs and gone on to win the Stanley Cup the following season.
The real contenders are Tampa, Fla and Carolina and out West Vegas, when Eichel gets back and Colorado. Id put Washington and Pittsburgh as strong contenders then Toronto, Rangers, Nashville, Minny as the unknowns wild card teams. I dont mean wild card as making the playoffs as a wild card, I mean they will be an unknown entity in the playoffs. Will they carry their season play over to the playoffs? - Brukie
You're an ass hat- Vegas went to the finals as an expansion team only two years ago.

I guess you’ll never know
(We’re in agreement)
I think the likelihood of them winning is the same as every other team, pretty slim. But the team is playing great. They have developed a trait of finding ways to win. High powered players, with very capable role players. They don’t shy away from a physical game. One of the best goalies in the league. Why can’t they be the team to shock the league? |

If the Rangers went to the Stanley Cup Finals this year and lost you wouldn't take that? If it meant trading a good prospect and a 1st round pick. Give me that any day. To be in the Stanley cup finals with a chance is all we can ask for as fans. |

The biggest thing for me is a lot of our players in their prime years are playing some of their best hockey. Will Kreider, Strome, Trouba ever play this well again? Doesn't make sense not to go for it |

I can tell ya one thing..if we did make the finals my confidence will much much higher than it was vs LA. We have a much better all around team. |

I think they have quite a bit more talent up front but they are not as good defensively. Not yet anyway. |

I agree. I was just trying to make the point that is all we can ask for as fans. A chance. Even if we aren't the favorite. Never know what the team will look like next year or if certain prospects and young players take the next step |

Agreed. How long do we have to sit around and be patient? Especially when the outcome of this season (so far) has been extremely positive, imo.

I wasn't yet a fully invested Rangers fan. It happened soon after. The most memorable thing about my fandom is when I was so pissed about the Rangers trading Gartner away that I said I was going to be a Maple Leafs fan. |
