The Flyers look like they are playing an NHL Video game. Always going for the one time cross crease play. The difference is night and day with the two teams passing. Flyers move the puck around the boards, passes are often forced or way off and Isles move the puck quickly and create openings.

You simply cannot take on that contract with a player with Ellis injury issues. That's the exact reason why Nashville traded him and why nobody else in the league was willing to touch him or beat the deal the Flyers offered for a top pair RH defenseman the quality of Ellis.

I was looking at the Lightning front office, they got a director of player development, amateur scouting, player personnel, skills development, hockey operations, and they are all different people so you got some different voices and perspectives there. Meanwhile the Flyers got Fletcher, Flahr and very old and out of touch senior advisors. Look at the comparison of the two franchises, it's night and day, and so are their front offices! Do you think the Flyers could use a director of skills development???
