You apply at a job to become an accountant, they hire you and make you a cook, are you going to be happy and perform to the highest of your abilities, or look for an opportunity to become an accountant? He was given about 1 period of top 6 C opportunity. The blame falls on the organization that hired the guy, not on the guy being put in a position to fail.

Accounting and cooking are different professions. They weren't asking him to play for the Stamps.

They’re also both professions that require you to work your ass off at an entry level spot to move up.

Your analogy fails at pretty much every level. Try again.

Flames are 3 points behind the Ducks with SIX games in hand

their demise has been greatly exaggerated

Calgary .600 points percentage
Vegas .600 points percentage

Yeah when you take a month off you fall in the standings

You also fall in the standings when you go 3-6-1 in the last 10. Was nice to see a win for a change, let’s see how they play Saturday before we get too excited.

And if SjS continue their trend, they easily take over the 3rd spot in the PAC, and if WPG continues their trend they take over ANA for the wild card spot. And if the Flames play 520 at home their chances get slimmer. Considering about 65% of their games are left at home and they're a 520 team... At least they're not so dire that their stars aren't fighting with their media.

I think majority of NHL fans are putting this on Matheson. Could Draisaitl have handled it better? Sure. Could this have been handled by a MSM media paid partially by the Oilers better? For sure. Poorly played by both parts. No extra attention needed towards the team during a slump, especially not from a guy everyone knows is employed by the Oilers PR department. And especially not from one of the players no one is putting blame on from the fans department.

Fans are calling for coaches and managements heads, this is an attempt to deflect blame before one of have to take the fall

They were probably focusing on your mighty Oilers, saving BOB for them. You for one would know about backup goalies that’s all the Oilers have.

Markstrom gets pulled after 4 first period goals. The beginning of the season was a fluke for him and he will finish the season with a 2.90 GAA and .900 Save%. Six million on this guy.

That comment didn't age well and its only been a day. I think you should relax, goalies don't stay hot the entire seasons and Markstrom is the least of Flames fans concern.

lol unfortunately that's true. Even Halak won't waive his no-trade clause to be the starter in EDM.

No worries.

Who f'n cares. When the season is done, no one looks back and goes, its was because of a ' Big win vs a disinterested FLA club and a backup goalie!!'. 2 points and the end to a skid.

Spector was on the Fan this am and they made a good point. In non-covid times, the scrum would have been at a players stall in the dressing room, and Drai could have grabbed a towel and walked away. Now its f'n Zoom and no real chance to have a private, side conversation and no real connection with the the local media.

Flames are 3 points back of Anaheim with 6 games in hand...meaning they are ahead of Anaheim big time lol. Same with the other Cali teams.

Nothing is dire about the Flames...they have played the fewest home games in the NHL and are tied for the division lead with Vegas in points percentage. They are ahead of all those Cali teams in reality.

Not to mention Calgary dominated the entire game...not like the "backup goalie" blew it. Unless he thinks Bob would have had a 1-0 shutout
