No kidding but he isnt too far removed from playing good on the Stars so it's not a hard sell that he could be effective again. - boonerbuck
Make sense if we can get anything for him, even a late pick. Pearson, for his $ isn't to bad tbh, and he plays heavier than most. If you could get a decent pick, sure.
Maybe someone takes Poolman to for a later pick

Unfortunately, I don't think we have the depth to get a pick back for any of our D. We need to replace the outgoing player with someone who can slot in immediately. |

I think, right now, you keep Poolman. They lack RHD long term and I guarantee next year or the year after, you get a 2nd or 3rd at the TDL for him. He's TDL fodder......thats his only value. |

I hear ya - why don't you want Boeser back? I mean, If youre moving Boeser, they should be keeping Miller IMO. - chompsey
Yup 1 has to stay.
Keep Miller & his play driving & points & live with his mistakes although older?
Keep Boeser’s knack for scoring but not the fastest & plays only the wing & no cheaper than Miller but is younger? |

Any chance we can trade OEL by retaining like 1M lol - hes been okay, but man, this contract is bad. With Myers, OEL taking up so much cap. |

Which contradicts what he first said. Thats pretty much the definition of losing the players.

Ya, I hear that he's ready to play in Florida. I think he's the guy you trade now if you can. I think that he has more value and his contract might be easier to move given that its shorter... |

That contract is ONLY moveable if you retain half and add an asset.
I really like OEL. He wont get the points as Hughes plays 90 seconds of every PP but he's solid defensively....but for how much longer.... |

People contradict themselves all the time. I didn't expect him to outright say they lost the room. I mean, he probably wants to work in the league again. So he tiptoed around it to preserve himself a bit. No biggie. |

Since a player’s cap hit is applied to a team’s finances on a daily basis, anyone acquired today would be added at half of their original average annual value. That is to say, as PuckPedia explains on Twitter, a player with a full-season cap hit of $5MM would only need $2.5MM in cap space from here on out. With more than 60 percent of the games left for some teams, that offers some increased value for any acquisition—basically, they’ll play in more games for the new team than they’re paid for.
This opportunity is most apparent for teams that have been able to stay out of long-term injured reserve, accruing cap space all season. The Wild, for instance, are on track to have more than $15MM in deadline cap space according to CapFriendly, obviously enough to add several impact players. The Bruins meanwhile will have more than $8.2MM in deadline cap space, and have played fewer games than all of the other contenders in the Atlantic Division. |

A rebuild? Moving one player? I dont think so. Thats more managing your assets in an effective manner understanding that the horses are there but the wagon isn't sturdy as its constructed.
A rebuild would be trading Miller, Boeser, Horvat, Pearson, Myers, Schenn, Motte and OEL. Thats not happening.
What management probably wants to do, should they trade Miller, is to add a RHD and a high pick. That RHD is a HUGE piece for this team moving forward. Unless Woo somehow finds his game to play top 4, the obvious priority is that - chompsey
The farm has not done well developing players overall. Either top picks groom in Europe or straight to the NHL. So either it’s the drafting or on Cull. Could it be it’s more about winning & prospects don’t get big minutes? |

BB just said no Hamonic until after the all star break. Buroughs should be good to go. We'll know tommotow if Demko . Miller on the ice or not how their tests went.
No timeline for Horvat, Garland or Halak - frustrated USA / CAD rules are different and not really fair.
Expects Spencer starts but wait and see what goalie coach says. |

I, personally, do not want to see him traded, but I see the logistical necessity of it. Either way, I would be content. I think a timely trade recouping quality assets would go a long way in moving the needle on this team long term.... - chompsey
I ponder how long Miller can play at a high scoring level. If he can keep it up for 4-5 yrs then Boeser is more expendable. That said the farm depth for top 6 prospects is thin.

How will Jim Rutherford tweak his roster?
@DarrenDreger: "Adding some young pieces, maybe shedding a little bit of payroll, but by no means diminishing the competitive aspect of what the #Canucks are going to be for the remainder of this season." - manvanfan
That is vague lacking details. Promote prospects or trade for them with what?

Hamonic should be traded.
Someone did say though that he is going to have to play games before someone trades for him.
A tweak of his injury is what I read for his further absence.

His 1st year here is solid & the RHD depth doesn’t help him. I expect his play to remain solid & when or if better RHD comes he’ll score more. His role holds back his skill set. |
