Sami Salo said D need to pass forward not east west. Boudreau wants quick ups. What does this mean? Ops doesn’t get to camp in the neutral zone & trap & turnover pucks & transition. Rushing the puck is negated with slow build ups unless a McD who can take it from end to end. Speed kills if utilized but too few can skate & dangle to get it done. Breakouts need great passing & quick not juniors level mentality or it’s a lot of chip & chase making it much harder.

It was a very good interview, as much as Baumgartner was maligned in here, his replies to some difficult questions was quite good. He is knowledgeable, articulate, took ownership for for team failures of PP, PK, and admitted the team needed a new voice.

Some guys can't ever get a tiny bit of respect, the fans are "know it alls" regarding every subject, process and thought that happens in a clubs dynamics.

He's obviously got some respect in the hockey world if he was selected out of a myriad of candidates to be an Olympic Coach. Hopefully he keeps improving so that he isn't in over his head the next chance he gets in the NHL.
