Bellows, Johnston, and Aho remained on the ice following morning skate with Varlamov in goal for the drills. #Isles |

Interesting. I thought Johnston might go back in for Martin who has been fairly invisible. And if Bellows comes out, who replaces him? Palmieri??? |

Definitely surprised about Bellows. He's been playing well. Hopefully Ross enters the lineup tomorrow night against the soft Leafs and we pound the piss out of them. Will be tough on a second night of back to back and rested Leafs not playing tonight. Gotta win tonight first though. |

He's still listed on IR.
So one of these things has to happen:
- Palmieri comes off IR today
- One of Bellows or Johnston (or both, if Martin is out) is in, but stayed out for extra work
- Czarnik gets activated from the taxi squad and gets into the lineup
- They play with 11F and 7D |

I have very little interest in playing Johnston against a fast and skilled Leafs team. He'd be a pylon out there. |

Unrelated note: Not a big problem, but a little surprised at Sorokin playing against the weaker opponent on the first game of a B2B. I suppose Trotz could be trying to do his best to lock up a win so the worst outcome of the weekend is a wash. |

Just saw online that Randy Boyd died. Only 59? Played a couple seasons in the 80s, post Dynasty teams.
Also, there's a rumor that Clark Gillies is not doing well??? |

My father and I spoke to him at length (they're in the same business) at the tour of UBS in September. He seemed totally fine to me then |

I was wondering the same thing and arrived at a similar conclusion. Plus, Varly could use the work against a good opponent. He might even match up better against the Leafs??? I have no idea why though. |

I hear what you're saying, but I think he's been more effective than Martin lately is guess is my point. Plus, defensemen are easier to hit than fast forwards. |

This is sensible but I can almost guarantee it’s due to trotz trusting Varlamov more against the Leafs then Sorokin. |

Agreed Martin has been out of sorts and Johnston is a better skater then Martin also. |

Bellows didn’t have consecutive multi point games so have to pull him out. |

I don't disagree about Johnston > Martin (this season)
Frankly I'd prefer neither were in against the Leafs, but that probably won't happen |

Seemed to work pretty well for Reeves the other night. He's right... when playing the Leafs you need to bully them |

I feel like he is just going to do the constant 1 and then the other for rest of year unless 1 really struggles. we have 50 games in 99 days. So have to keep both fresh and playing.

We are not going to out skate or Talent the leafs. We can out tough them.. by a lot and that is exactly what we should do in that game. The Rangers beat the tar out of them in that game and the leafs folded like a lawn chair.

Starting to think Lamoriello traded Pulock and is just waiting until the deadline to announce it. Slowest healing bone in history. Grinning face with smiling eyes #isles
I actually laughed at this tweet.. pretty funny. I feel like Pulock is probably ready and Trotz just doesn't want to bench Chara who is clearly the worst d-man at this point. He can't bench Salo who has points in last 2 games and seems to be getting better every game. |

Joel Farabee joins Kevin Hayes on Philly's IR. Farabee is out approx 4 weeks with an upper body injury.
No Farabee or Hayes next week |

Honestly I don't think it matters who Barry plays as far as Varly or sOrOkin because they have both been great and given the team a chance to win every game. .Goaltending imo has been the best part of this team by far this year. |

So Barry is sitting his 1A Defenseman and not putting the best team on the ice? This makes absolutely no sense imho. |

Losing to the burning chemical toilet that is the Arizona Coyotes is flat-out unacceptable
Poor Ladd is going to get booed so bad. If they have a scoreboard tribute for him I'm getting up and leaving the arena - eichiefs9
