Yes, that was Zak Rosen. Let's be precise here.

Every one of these moves was heralded at the time by the chuckles fan club

I dont think anyone on this site is part of the chuck fan club. Maybe last summer but not now. Some people think criticizing Ronnie is an endorsement of chuck and thats not the case.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I don’t have very many issues with Ristolainen. Do I think he’s one of the best in the league? No. Do I think he’s the best defenseman on this team? Nope! I look at him as no different than Nicolas Grossmann, Luke Schenn or denis gauthier. He just adds an element we were desperately missing last season.

Risto, MacEwan…we’re notably tougher, finally and we’re still complaining.

I have no issues with Ristolainen. He has been a good Dmen for PHI for the 2nd pair. He is one of few Dmen on the team that actually makes a clear pass out of the zone. Love the way he clears the net. I am ok if they move him at the deadline and try to bring him back in the off season

It isn't, it just doesn't support his narrative is why he is questioning you. Look no farther than York was drafted by Fletcher and Frost by Hextall as the reason why.
- jd250

This Hextall schtick you have is beyond absurd. I'm extremely high on York and I very much with my limited knowledge of the players, as whole like Fletcher's drafting with the Flyers.

So this draft doesn't have what would be considered a day 1 NHL stud?
- PLindbergh31

It was pretty highly regarded, but a many of the top players have been struggling (probably for the same reasons as Wright), so expectations have been tempered.

The Flyers acquiring Ristolainen for the 2nd time would only cement their incompetence.

Is he actually clearing the net? I've seen a lot of goals against where he failed to move a body out of the way or tie up a stick.

If Yandle wasn't on this team, he'd be bleeding the most scoring chances and goals against.

The hits are entertaining, but very few of them actually cause turnovers or stop scoring chances.

Sad it takes an injury to call him up.

Nah, but he's missed a lot of development time due to Covid shutdowns. And people are talking like he might be stunted, based on how not elite he's looked this year.

And there's now a handful of guys hot on his heels who could knock him out of the #1 spot.

Hope it's more then whispers that's the first key move to acquiring assets. I think he has had enough of this losing and knows it's not gonna turn around for years. Question is does he limit where he will go to if he waives.

He just came back a week ago from injury himself. He wasn't getting called up any sooner and likely they would like him to play few more games with Phantoms. There is no rush to bring these young guys into this chaotic losing disaster.

I don't think there is any question he will limit. I have a hard time believing he would accept a trade to a team that is not at LEAST a playoff team right now. He isn't waiving to go to a team playing out the string regardless of what some here think of him.

I expect to be completely underwhelmed by what we get for him. Chuck will get us a mid level prospect and a 3rd rounder.

It's the same reason why LA didn't trade Kopitar when they weren't good. You gotta keep somebody around who can play and anchor the skaters so the kids don't get reamed.

I agree. I think the Flyers will ask him what teams he might be willing to go to but I don't think they will ask him to give a blanket waive. They won't formally ask him to waive until they have a deal in place.

He was healthy. One game in the AHL was fine. Then a call up needed to happen Nothing to gain for him in the AHL right now. There is a rush when he is clearly a better option than many on the roster.

Didn't Farabee get hurt on Tuesday? Why did he play last night and then promptly get put on the IR?

thanks for your opinion. They wont ask him to waive at all imo. They will let him come to them if he wants to move.

All about the PR spin if if happens.

Many player are different. There is too much noise above and below. Is every players potential measured off of the average statistics for a player? Is that how NHL talent scouts assess a players potential?
- MJL

It's difficult to quantify differences in players' attitudes, personas, motivations, etc. I would have to think that GMs, scouts, etc. look at how players have performed statistically over certain periods of time, against particular competition, injury history and other measurable factors before determining a player's potential.
