he prefers people to other dogs. well, except for my neighbor. he doesn't like him for some reason. guy has never done anything to him. he will even go and growl at the house when no one is there.

Dogs are excellent judges of character in humans. (Especially the ones who feed them.)

I'm pretty lucky with Bear. Since he doesn't have an undercoat, he also wants to stay out of the cold as much as me. He gets the business done, stands there, and gives me the "why aren't we going back inside PDQ" look. I know it's warm enough when he wants to go poking around in the woods.
