No thanks to Chychrun. The cost would be astronomical and not sure he’s what we need. He’s a -31 in 29 GP. I like the idea of a guy like Soucy instead. - nyrangers9479
I agree with this part
But Chychrun would become the top left handed defenseman on the team
my concern with him is his ability to stay healthy more than anything else
Even Larry Robinson 1977 would have been a minus player on the Coyotes team, his plus minus doesnt worry me |

There’s a few guys on the right side of the +/- on that team right now and most others in the -1 to -7 range. He’s the anomaly at -31. Agree with his injury history |

As Ive said, although Im not against kicking the tires, I think the priority move is Miller first. |

I’d rather add a stay at home shut down type dman for the 3rd line. I think Millers mistakes are overblown, he’s a kid still. Miller is the type of player you trade now and in 2-3 years whatever u got for him looks like Nam for JT Miller. |

I definitely agree that Miller is the priority, if I were picking the position to upgrade
but, I don't think re-litigating the trade from 4 years ago makes sense every time his name comes up
the Rangers are contenders, they have cap space, and he's a really good forward who can play all three positions and win faceoffs and play with an edge, he's perfect for this team's needs |

My major concern is Strome deciding to go for his pay day and us being stuck with no centers. |

I think they should go for the Cup
they've got one spring left where Zibianjed and Fox are only making a combined 6.5 mil
next year it jumps to a combined 19 mil
go for it

Although I agree they should go for it, it should be a relative conservative move that doesnt empty the cupboards but also doesnt screw us next year financially. Id like to avoid going 100% LA Rams and trade all our picks the next 2 years. |

I definitely dont mind trading the first rounder, and both the 2nd rounders
Othmann, Schneider should be absolutely off the table
I think Jones/Lundkvist are virtually the same thing, very talented, but very small, and they'll never be comfortable playing both at the same time, so either one of them can be included in a deal, IMO
Kravtsov can obviously go
that's some chips that can be used

From Arthur Staple's column today:
"As for Kravtsov, a source said there’s been no contact between the player’s camp and the Rangers for several months. So the possibility of him coming back from the KHL playoffs straight into the Rangers’ roster seems unlikely at this point."
"The HNIC crew said the Rangers have inquired on Jake DeBrusk and we reported they’ve talked with the Canadiens about Artturi Lehkonen. Calle Jarnkrok was on our very early list of possible forward additions to the bottom six and it’s believed the Rangers have talked with the Kraken. Everything has been preliminary on the forward front, but that urgency may step up as we get inside of eight weeks to the trade deadline." |

the only reason the trade deadline was so late this year was because of the Olympic break, Im really suprised they arent moving it up

This is why I want him paired with Schneider, which may be the Rangers' thinking as well. |

Yup. And don’t see why Drury would sit on his hands until then anyway. Rangers are in a great position and the areas to upgrade are pretty obvious. Why wait?
The one thing to consider is if the new 1st line stays together, that gives Laf a spot in the top 6 and could reduce the RW need. Then, beefing up the 3rd line and adding a LD become the bigger priorities. |

Well, if they decide to keep that line and do go all-in and trade for Chychrun they may want to explore the option of taking Crouse with him. |

It would be nice to since the Rangers have 2 weeks off between games. Let that new player they trade for get settled in New York, build some chemistry with teammates and get some practice time in...instead of just throwing them into the crazy schedule fire in March |

I wanted the Rangers to get him a year or 2 ago, I actually wanted him and Fischer for the 4th line. |

I like the idea of Crouse as sort of a better Gaut, but unless we know he could flip to the right easily I'm not sure it really helps us

All in all though, if I was to use our 1st round picks the next 2 years, Id go Miller and Pavelski/Giroux over Chychrun. |
