Seems a strong choice, six year apprentice under Rutherford already so he knows what he’s getting. Seems like a solid group.

He was Pens head scout since 2017, hard to judge recent drafts but his first couple of drafts seem pretty meh. Addison was a decent pick, but the rest is underwhelming. No 1sts in 17/18, but they did have three 2nds and Poulin their 2019 1st seems like a meh pick too.

Allvin was one person I had identified early due to not getting the job in Pitt when rutherford was hired.

Rutherford has had quite a bit of success. Hopefully he has picked the right group to bring some success to the Canucks.

Word is out that Patrik Allvin has accepted the GM job in VAN. Official announcement expected tomorrow, although we will see if timeline changes due to all the news tonight

i mean evaluating talent is definitely part of a GM's job, maybe he's better at evaluating NHL talent than junior players

They have had 4 or 5 picks every draft for a decade now, usually with a pick somewhere around 20th, if they have a 1st round pick.
Poulin is in his 1st pro season, let's see how he is in a year or 2.

I seem to remember Rutherford trading picks like tick tacks . He was never shy about making big moves if I recall correctly.

Yeah, I mean obviously it’s hard to judge him since he’s never been a GM. I’m sceptical but also excited to see the change.

To be fair, when you have Crosby and Malkin, you’re kind of in win-now mode by default. I think he’ll be aggressive in Van too but not trading picks for guys in their late 20’s or signing older UFA’s to long term deals.

We will see . He reminded me a lot like Bergevin. As much as the fans want change I see a lot of similarities in these hiring's as the last group. A scout GM with no previous experience. Same scouting group, hiring a analytic person that bad mouthed the Canucks (Biech/ Doerrie )

Can someone remind me what Richardinson does on this team? Is he as useless as I think he is or am I missing something?

that looked like giving Connor McD the benefit ofthe doubt on that penalty at first glance.

edit. holy poope.
didn't realise we had literally the worst PK in the league (and Edm has the no 1 pp)

Hes overpaid but he’s essentially an energy winger with limited puck skills. Thanks Benning.

Canucks have the fewest goals against 5x5 in the league. Just goes to show you how many goals they allowed on the PP. Their special teams have been a disaster this season.

Yup but old news. The PP isn’t helping to get the wins.
