They aren't making the playoffs. That chance was over months ago.

Given the fact tht they would need Boston or the Caps to fall flat on their faces, I think you're right.

One thing about this seasons team: we're the oldest team in the league and I think it shows. A couple of players look like they've lost a step (Zeeker, Clutter, Palmer) and replacing Leddy with Chara....we just look slow now

They are also last in the league in scoring. It's hard for them to win unless the goaltenders are outstanding.

Well yeah, which is a direct result of where our organizations emphasis has been. Chemistry is such a fragile thing and I just think Lou's last few tweaks may have turned the knob a click or two too far. If you're going to commit to system over outright skill, you at least need speed. We did, but now don't.

Oldest team in the league, no goal scoring, a perfect example of a lou lamerillio team. Now all he has to do is put marty brodeur in goal.

Record against teams in a playoff position is at 2-12-3

Varly owns 7 of those loses.

Out shot once again, Islanders needs to put 30 plus shots per game on the board. Play the odds

I just read some of the Leafs thread. I feel woke and stupid now. I have to take a shower.

Sometimes I need to remind myself how stupid a chunk of the population is. I of course mean this in a very non racist, equitable way, notice how there was no math or non binary pronouns in my post.

Every time I go there to see what they think about their hockey club I read some political bullsh!t, and when it's focused on the US (which they love to do bc their country is so perfect) I comment and get banned

Yeah if you ever feel like pissing yourself off or getting banned for whatever reason just post on the Leaf’s thread.

Yep. Last season I went in there and wished them good luck on their season. For some reason it pissed them off. I don't know why. I wasn't being sarcastic.

You did this after a loss?

Isn’t that considered self harm?

I guess you could say it was a bit on the masochistic side.

Thank you for doing this you save me some time. I was going to look this up last night and post about it. I'll be interested in seeing how the return of Pulock effects our overall performance. Like we saw when Pelech went out a couple of years ago the team suffered greatly. Then he returned and we ruled the bubble.
I'm not saying the turnaround would be that drastic but I do expect the team to be substantially improved regardless of our offensive struggles with his return. Unfortunately it'll be too late.

I don’t know if the islanders knew there was a hockey game last night. Probably one of their worse performances of the year

We keep saying that when we play playoff-caliber teams. It might just be that we don't measure up

Isles have struggled against teams that play speedy, up-tempo games all year. Kings have good speed and teams like the Leafs/Rangers/etc... all play a fast-paced game. The Isles are old and immobile.
