I agree on a macro level. But it his his first NHL game. If I was Yeo I would do the same thing at least to start. Let him get his NHL legs by putting him out there in some low pressure situations and then maybe move him up for a few shifts as the game moves on. - MBFlyerfan
respectfully disagree. He is supposed to be an offensive player. Put him with better caliber NHL players. This way maybe he feels more comfortable. Less afraid to make a mistake. You are not putting him in a position to succeed on the 4th line.
If you keep him on the 4th line then just keep a guy like Cates instead. He will not get his nhl legs playing 8 minutes on the 4th line.

I tell ya, I would be infinitely more patient with the Flyers if they had two cups under their belts as recently as the Kings.
But I get your point. - MBFlyerfan
Of course. My response sounds ungrateful. If is much better than the Ladislav Nagy Years after the lockout when all we had was losing to Montreal in 5 games back in '93 to fall back on. The original point is building a team with strong, 200' center play and not hoping for a Unicorn, 90+ plus guy to rescue the franchise is probably a good blueprint. |

Mayhew, "the AHL tweener", has more goals than most of our NHL regulars in the last few games.
This franchise has more questions than answers this season.
Unreal.
Mayhew makes frost look good
Why has this kid been buried in the AHL? Is he awful away from the puck? I am seriously asking because I don't have the balls or sadness to watch anymore |

Maybe because he is a 29 year old AHL tweener with 5 goals and 1 assist in 27 career NHL games. |

Small sample size but Mayhew looks like a perfect full time 4th/3rd line for next season. Speedy, relentless forchecker, ability to finish |

do you think he can perform at the same ability for a team trying to compete for a cup or he's just a warm body while a team transitions |

He is 29 so I think he is what he is at this point. I like his energy for sure.

The upper levels at WFC have been shut off and everyone is packed into the lower bowl. Could be a good will gesture for those showing up despite the weather but it’s also a good optic for the tv broadcast.
Still a lot of empty seats. |

That doesn't change that he ahs unfortunately been out most productive person lately.
Look, I'm on the side of this team bottoming out and getting a top 3 pick at this point. This season is lost. Let's get a nice draft pick and start the process.
I supported this team early on but now I'm on board with a top pick, which is what is best for the team at this point |
