if i ask for bacon ang get bagels there's gonna be real trouble. - kicksave856
hey there kick
don't get me wrong, I do like bagels, as they can be quite delicious, but none of them could ever surpass the heavenly taste of bacon and its unrivaled ability to enhance almost any meal.

"we" as in your wife and kids have it too? any harsh symptoms..? - Pat1993
Wife is very sick and she usually is the toughest. Hurts everywhere, headache, throat. I have all this but less intense. Kids cough a bit in the night.

sucks to hear, but I guess if none of you need to go to the hospital it isn't so bad after all.
and that's much better luck than what Claude Julien has, apparently he fell on the ice during a team-building activity, got some broken ribs, and now he won't be able to coach team Canada at the Olympics. sucks for him.
Seriously, the Flyers game yesterday afternoon put me to sleep. Woke up for a late afternoon (evening) delight, had a little snack (in a blissful haze) and then went back to sleep until just over a couple of hours ago. EDIT: I think it must have been the radiant heating upgrade to our bed sheets.
Best thing is there was to be a launch last night that I thought I had missed, but it was actually delayed for weather. So barring any further delays, it should go off between the games, and be a really nice sight to see in the midst of twilight. And there's going to be another tomorrow.
I'm sorta disappointed there's been a slight bump in the race to catch down with the Habs for the Flies. Maybe you're correct about which team is really worse.

Not gonna lie, totally jealous that you get to watch those launches... But the thought of watching another Challenger would always be in the back of my mind.

Did I understand the blog correctly: a comparison between Paul Byron and Yvon Cournoyer???? Byron is a highly overpaid bottom 6 winger with good speed and some skill on the pk. Last year he was a healthy scratch many times and spent a fair bit of time on the taxi squad. I do like him but trying to give a realistic assessment of his talent and what he might do for the team.
As painful as it is watching the losses pile up and seeing Ducharme 's train wreck news conferences we HAVE to keep him for the rest of the year. Last overall will be the best thing we can achieve.

I think it's something you get over without too much difficulty. I've seen a couple of unmanned boo-boos. Those are easy, even though one if them rained toxic solid rocket fuel onto the coast and into the Atlantic, as well as the radioactive power supply of its payload...
I clearly remember the Columbia breakup before landing. It was a Sat, and I was living just west of WDW at the time, and remember getting up real early (7am) so I could hear the twin sonic booms. I wasn't alarmed at first because sometimes you didn't hear them during bad weather or adverse wind conditions, but I had a suspicion otherwise because it was all too calm and clear that morning. It was in those days before the instantaneous smart phone alerts, so it took a few minutes for me to think that maybe I should turn on the TV and see what's going on. None of the network news had caught on yet but our cable provider had its own 24hr news network and they were covering it live. They weren't drawing any conclusions either, but they had already reported that the shuttle was unusually overdue, and patched into the live feed of mission control in Houston basically figuring it out before they locked the doors and cutoff the feed. Then the reports started coming in of debris falling from Arizona to New Mexico, and the rest is well known history.
I also clearly remember Challenger cause we were waiting in class and our Prof was unusually late. He came in, told us what happened, and dismissed us. The rest of my classes got cancelled and I went back to my dorm's TV lounge to watch. Even before anyone knew how it happened, I could see that errant flame coming from the wrong spot on the SRB, even with the poor quality of SD we got on that old TV.
But the wonder of watching the ones that go off without a hitch outweigh the bad. And look at all the good it has done over the last 60+ years.

good morning to you as well!
glad you like the avatar previously I had a goalie one from Blades of Steel but not a regular player, I might still tweak it a little but it isn't too bad the way it currently looks... I love the 8-bit retro style, for the nostalgia factor obviously but also since it's fairly easy to edit.
nice to hear you haven't missed the launch, sounds like those are way more captivating to watch compared to our poor old habs and flyers lol. and yeah it might be pretty hard for Philly to "catch up" to MTL in terms of losses and being at the bottom of the standings, the flyers have their fair share of issues but the habs are in a league of their own. this season will probably go down in history, and for all the wrong reasons...
and aww, poor little iguanas, falling from a tree while your asleep must be a turrible experience to go through.

oh, did you watch that live? a tragic moment indeed. Apollo 1 was pretty (frank)ed up too, although there were probably few people that witnessed it since it never took off.

Though they also wake-up once they warm-up as well (mostly). I heard the warning had gone out the other day just because people would pick them up and then get bit because they didn't realize they were only "groggy," not deadpouleted.

I would also probably start biting if someone tried to pick me up while I was groggy.
