Also, Pat. You won't believe it. Another scrub tonight (4th time). This time it was a range violation. Apparently a cruise ship entered restricted water and the USCG couldn't get them away fast enough. Should have just sank it and make all those (frank)ers swim back to shore.

And it was a nice night to watch too. Excellent viewing conditions. The sky was burnin' red (I believe my soul's on fire). Hope it's the same tomorrow, cause it's set to go off at the same time.

Burnin' Sky ain't a bad track either. not very appropriate if we're talking about Challenger though, but oh well.

That album and the one before it, Candy Apple Grey, are great. Been going through their catalog lately, as well as some Bob Mould stuff and Sugar. Hüsker's hard core fans didn't like their later stuff but I wasn't one of them. I just liked them in a casual way. A friend from Minn turned me onto them just before they broke-up, but in retrospect, I wished I appreciated them more at the time.

I feel it's the kind of band I would've enjoyed seeing live, it's reminiscent of the old-school punk rock I listened to.

Why is it that your mind always go to these dark places before it goes anywhere else? Find that good place, Pat. Do it for the deadpoulet, if not for us all.

Stop trying to confuse me. You're better than this!

- Bendecko

oh?

I probably have my missions confused. I thought there was a scene in Apollo 13 where they refer to Apollo 1, and they show the crew trapped inside and burning alive.

No. I was talking about weather leading to the Challenger tragedy. The Apollo 1 fire had nothing to do with the weather (as Hanks playing Lovell sorta explained to his kid). Anyway, I was much too young to remember any of the latter and the rest of the moonshots and the Skylab missions. I do remember Apollo-Soyuz, about the same time as the Flyers were winning their back-to-back Cups (which make me happy and sad at the same time).

yeah, I often complain that 93 feels so far away and that it's been way too (frank)ing long since the habs won a cup, but then there are teams like the flyers and the laffs that remind me that things could be worse.

I think this isn't the first time you post this one, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't even have noticed that this is what he's actually saying in the song (for some reason Tool is one of those rare bands for which I don't pay much attention to the lyrics).

you got that right (or wrong..? lol), holy.

I don't necessarily hate them but they're definitely not my favorite band, so I think it's actually more fun to not know the actual lyrics to their songs. and besides I find my made-up gibberish gives it a certain "flavor".
