Scoring is killing them. Colorado is plus 30, Pitt, Carolina around plus 20.
Canucks plus 1 in 5v5 scoring. - manvanfan

Detroit in the East sits 3rd at .500 in the wild card race. In the West they would be 8th. Canucks have to gain about .070 points on half a dozen teams to make the playoffs. - manvanfan
Oh for sure it's a tough stretch. Especially with the 3 point games now just want to see the effort is all. I get the whole trading Miller thing and if the return is great I guess we look at it. |

Who says trading him now is better? - manvanfan
Who says trading him later is better?
There's no way to know that answer. IMO, and from what pundits have said, teams would be willing to pay more at this TDL than in the summer or next TDL because you get two Stanley Cup runs with him.
Not saying he has to be moved at this moment, or that it's even going to happen this year with how the team is playing. It's just an equation of the return on a JTM trade and taking him out of the team, versus forgoing a trade for at least this season and seeing if the team can make the playoffs. Both will have positive and negative impacts in the short- and long-term. |

How are the 'camps' in AUS and NZ?
- LordHumungous
Amazing side step, as usual.
I suppose it's pretty uncomfortable to have white supremacists on your team, so you have to invent some story to rationalise it.
The camps?
I'm going camping this weekend. Thanks for asking,
Here's a pic from the spot.
No big trucks allowed. Sorry.

lol predictable there it is. the racist card.
Truckers posted weeks ago there would be infiltration by paid protesters trying to cause angst/violence among the group. Almost predicted it to the day of. Love how the MSM spins it. Ralliers have been nothing but respectful and peaceful on the way to Ottawa. Video was posted yesterday the people removing the clowns with the Confederate/Nazi flags but you won't see that on MSM. But hey I'm glad you are camping and enjoying the weather. Bring lots of Kool-Aid.

Suspect pic. Seems to be a trend right now to photo shop swastikas. Over and over pics like that are getting busted. Could also be an accusation towards Trudeau. - boonerbuck
Also confederate flags being flown.
To me a swastika is not open to debate and only has one meaning.

Trading him now could possibly leave a lot of unknown if they include draft picks. It also limits the amount of teams and the teams you can trade with may or may not have the right prospects.
It's not restocking time. Got to make it right for the not so distant future IMo. |

I don't believe the Canucks should be looking at trading anyone. They just beat the high-powered Blackhawks, rather convincingly, with a strong game from the teams best defenseman Luke Schenn, to seal the victory and another excellent game from the top line of Lamikko, Motte and Highmore, and a big goal from secondary scoring line with Dowling, Chiasson and Hoglander..
I vote the Canucks stay the course, maybe even look at being a buyer this deadline, for that big push to get into the playoffs. |

I'm just saying photoshops are being posted often. Just the other day a photoshop of a supposed antifa flag was being debunked. The claim was they borrowed it from Nazi Germany. In the end, it was a photoshopped National Front flag from Briton trying to discredit antifa. I've seen dozens of photoshops trying to connect right wingers into nazi extremists. Most people are ignorant to the differences between a conservative or nationalist and a white supremist so they fall for it. Seems both right and left are playing this game.

As I've said a number of times, I personally wouldn't trade him for picks – it takes too long for those to make an impact. One of the main reasons to trade JTM is his age and next contract, and you'd be faced with that same problem with draft picks: before they can make an impact, the core you have now will start to get into that upper age range.
Trading JTM for prospects/players who can make an impact in a year to three is who I would target. Players like Laf or Schneider who can join and grow with the team now.
Most of the teams inquiring about JTM have solid prospects (aside from Calgary), so it's about making it work for both teams. The Canucks need forwards and D, so unless a team only has blue chip goalie prospects, I'm sure they can work something out.
You make it seem like not trading him leaves the knowns as good things, and the stocks are full... who are the prospects coming up to push the club to a better level? Is letting JTM walk in FA a smart move? Would signing a 30 year old to a 7/8 year contract be a smart decision?
Realistically, is this team competing for a cup with the way the team is structured and with the kids in the system? Or is it still in the Benning-built "get into the playoffs and see what happens"? IMO it's more the latter, so I'd rather do a quick restock with players/prospects that can make an impact in the next couple years to take the team past where they are now. Trading JTM is just the quickest way to get there, I think. |

I would love to see what this team can do in the playoffs. Big heart Bruce has said.
Rangers traded Miller and others and what are they doing now, going to trade for him more than what they got for him.
Miller isn't a UFA this off season. Unless a team is giving you a boatload that you got wide eyed at. Deal with it in the off season.
The cupboards aren't as sad as most make them out to be. Obviously trading away 2 recent first round picks has made a hole at the top end but you have Miller and Garland to show for it. |
