I'm still hoping that Allvin trades Miller & Boeser by the TDL.
- Marwood

Nope. Most likely Garland/Motte.

I still prefer to extend Miller, if he does a 7 year deal, I see him being productive for 5 or 6 of those years. If there is a chance he won't re-sign, then trade him.

What do you sign him to? Do you think he'll still be a PPG player at 34/35? Do you keep Boeser? Do you resign Horvat?

Because if all three of those are signed, it becomes a somewhat top heavy team.. and you'd need youth to infuse that. I don't think the Canucks have the prospects for that.

yup.
I'm still saying that they trade Brock by the TDL.
Look to move Motte and Halak too if possible.
JTM is a ballsy move, i'm into it if the deal is right.

Them too. I hope Benning enjoys watching how a proper rebuild is done.

Last year he helped steady Hanifin’s game and this year it’s Kylington. He’s a great team guy!
- K-man25

The year before that Hughes. Never have understood why we let him walk, a few on here are coming to realize the same.

Still don't understand the motive to move Garland, unless it's personal/personality. From a hockey perspective it doesn't make much sense.

You make a list of guys that you would deal, go out and see which one fetches the best value in the return. If Garland is that guy, off you go. I like Garland and prefer to see him stay, but the guys who are playing well are the most likely to be dealt.

stop pretending to know. Theyll have a list, see what teams offer. Pretending like you know Garland is more likely to get dealt than JTM or BB is silly talk.

I like him (even though he's gone cold for the last lil bit).
I ain't mad at JR putting all his lines in the water tho and see if he gets any bites.

We know the positives that Garland brings - speed, tenacity, good hands and seems to be able to play up and down the lineup.

incentives to move him are size (and we got a few smaller fellas on the team), salary (eg compared with Hoglander) and that JB stank.

At least 1 of the 2, 7+million dollar passenger forwards needs to be trade, preferably sooner than later.
Of those 2 Brock is the most expendable and the least versatile, but he does have nice hair.

7x7 or less, I wouldn't go higher than 8 with a year less. Trade Boeser by the TDL, re-sign Horvat. Move EP to the wing.
I think Miller will be at or near PPG player up to 35. A lot of comparable for him are productive into their mid-late 30's. I'll see if I can find the article I read on it.

Podk - Miller - Garland
EP - Bo - Hogger(or an upgrade)

I would also try and trade Richardinson and sign Motte for under 2.25m. Pearson is fine as a 3rd liner and his cap, find a right shot centre that can PK for our 3c

Pearson - X - Motte

Find a new 4th line. I think Highmore and Lamkiko have been fine here, and won't cost a lot to have next season.

I don't think there's a chance in hell Miller resigns here. If we are to believe all the interest in him, then if his contract runs out he's going to be able to print money and choose from a list of really strong teams in America. What would it take for him to re-sign here? A lot more than he's worth and term... the kind of contract most here despise. High salary, long term on a 30yo+ player on his downside.

I dont know if a player playing the best hockey o his career is on his downside, seems a bit off.

What are you trying to fetch? You want to give up your best players in hopes that you might get effective players?

How about the players that are currently being overpaid by 6.5 mil like Petey? If him Brock and most nights Bo did what they are paid to do we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You want to trade your two most effective players ? Do you know how soft and boring this team will be if those two get moved?

Also Schenn is a Goddamn bargain . Doing exactly what Tanev does with Hughes at a fraction of the cost. The problem is our forwards, they are fun to play against.

Agreed.
I'm also not confident that Horvat re-signs either at this point.

If there is a good chance he won't stay, you trade him. No matter what, the assets we get back will be better for us than not having him at all. We aren't competing for the cup next year, so who cares if we miss him?

schenn and tanev, thats hilarous. No.

They want to shed cap. Its the one thing they have said. Anyone north of 5 mil is potential. I sincerly doubt they sell low on Petey. Id imagine a combination of picks, prospects. Maybe an expiring contract they can flip? Or a young guy with upside on a cheaper contract.

So you bring in new people that don't want to stay and rinse and repeat. How about fixing the problem so they want to stay.
