Speaking of stats, that's what most of the new blog is about.
I've compared some of the numbers from the Green and Boudreau eras — and it's gonna take me a little time to process the fact that Vancouver is now the best defensive team in the league!

I don't think 7x7 or 8x6 is impossible for his next contract, and he will be worth that cap hits. Probably has 5 good years out of the 6 or 7 he signs for. - Retinalz
Sure, but those are numbers he takes to play where he wants. I'm guessing he'll want a crack at a Cup while he's in his prime. We're still a ways off from that. |

I've never really commented on +/- on here before. I do think when you have a larger sample size it becomes more useful. 600-800 games and you start to see a trend. - NorthNuck
Dig a little deeper then . He picked up most of those minus points playing on the Leafs years ago and the Arizona Coyotes. The rest of his career he did okay and he did it without a partner like Edler.

If the make up of this team is not good enough why are you getting rid of your best players ?
This team is so soft and we want to get rid of our two most involved forwards. Well if Miller is moved at least we still have Motte to add some muscle. Oh wait we are moving him too.
- VANTEL
For me it's like this. If the canucks are out of the playoff picture by TDL, you entertain offers for Miller. Only make a trade if you get a home run though. If the offers are not what this team needs...try again at the draft.
If the team is in the playoff picture at the TDL... keep him. If the team collapses and misses the playoffs or pulls a Leaf's and doesn't compete in the first round, pick up the phone at the draft and try and get best deal possible.
If Miller helps carry this team through a couple of rounds... then you have a tough decision to make before his contract is up.

Good reply 👍
Moving on to next move then. Who for what & why? |

How old will Miller be when this team is regularly in the playoffs again is the question
I get the emotional attachment to JTM but logically you trade him this year or next |

Picks/prospects are easier to acquire at TDL vs draft. Teams are all trying to shed cap at the draft to re-sign their guys or sign UFA’s
If anything, I’d like to see JR looking at potentially being a buyer at the draft for 27 and younger players signed to reasonable deals |

Of course I did lol
My state of mind on the team has changed. Optimism has eroded. The make up of the roster is not good enough. Other teams are passing us. LAK & Anaheim. Even if we get better other teams are also & at a rate we are not keeping up to. That is why we are where we are. |

I think we’ve discussed this like 5 times already lol
You know my reply by now
- Pens
- Crosby/Malkin
- wins > future
If he’s trading picks for Toews/Garland/Miller types then sign me up |

I think making the playoffs is pretty important to FA right now. He needs revenue. Playoffs will be the deciding factor.

The simpleton view is “wow they’re only X amount of points out!”
Logically, look at how many teams they have to jump in point percentage. It’s not easy passing that many teams in a league with so many OT games
If they get really hot before the TDL then sure, but I’m not counting on that |

Really? He's being outplayed by Schenn at the moment. - Load Management
Really? I disagree, Schenn is having a good season offensively, but the rest of his game looks to be lacking in comparison. |

Soooo... is Rutherford and co a bunch of simpletons? Because they are making the assessment not the fans.

Explain. - Marwood
Sure,
It's a love affair, you post and he can't wait to jump in with a snide remark, he is seeking your attention, he wants to be noticed and appreciated by you.
This is a classic case of Histrionic personality disorder, characterized by constant attention-seeking, emotional overreaction, and seductive behavior. People with this condition tend to overdramatize situations, which may impair relationships and lead to depression.

JR has been around the block a few times. I know we’re used to Elmer running the show but JR knows how to use the media to appease people.
“Miller is our best forward”
“Canucks open to re-signing Miller”
This is exactly how you try to get teams to pay up. If they don’t then you look into showing them that you’re serious. Next time they won’t be so eager to call your bluff.
JR also said this team needs to be faster and deeper, I don’t think he’s too attached. His comments are lip service imo |

Thx very much ref. As long as the CoC applies to the refs in each thread as well all should be good. Cheers. |
