mental is part of the game and yes, very happy with Hart. I am team positive but I see this season and want to focus on growth, Hart etc. What is needed to take a step forward. NO team gets the cup by following a straight line, it has all sort of turns.
Imagine Hart with actual structure in front of him. That can also be applied to the other players, these kids are being raised in a broken home - wcorvette
Yes. That much is certain. I think with a solid team, hart will really excel. |

The only team that has been speculated on his list is the avalanche. I don’t know of anywhere else he would want to go. If it’s the Colorado you are looking at a 2023 1st, a 2nd level prospect (read Drew Helleson as a possibility-rhd played with York-on Olympic team- sounds like someone Fletch would target to me) and something else. That something else would have to have salary. The Flyers will likely retain half on Giroux so depending on when the trade happens either Compher or Jost. Sadly I see Fletcher getting rolled in any deal his does so it will end up probably being less. But moving Giroux now likely puts the Flyers in the top 3-5 of the draft which will be beneficial even if Fletcher gets rollled by Sakic. - psuhockey
Lets say the Avs are the only team he will waive to. You still see a 1st and a 2nd level prospect?
I said few weeks back Compher will be part of any package coming back imo. Almost has to be for the cap.

Yes, but as the deadline approaches they want to see him playing and know he is healthy so they can evaluate him for their team - jd250
Stop he is healthy now. sitting him out wont make him unhealthy. There is nothing to evaluate with CC.
trading him sooner also allows him and the team get more acclimated with each other. |

I do since most GMs know others have to save face. I don’t think Giroux would screw with the franchise and only give one team but I also know the franchise will want to do right by him and give him his preferred destination. My worry about Fletcher is he will value another 2nd level prospect more so than the 1st. It’s like the Simmonds trade where there was a rumor that he could have had a 2nd rd pick but chose Hartman instead because he wanted a player in return. |

I do not think it is screwing the franchise at all. The franchise gave him the NMC so he has every right to use it the way he wants. If he only wants to go to 1 team so be it. It sucks though wont fault him in any way.
I had no issue with Hartman as he was a legit NHL player. Former 1st rd pick. Why they didn't keep him not sure. Was it money?
No issue if he he decides to go that route again depending on who the prospect/player may be.

Those additions to scouting/personnel/player development that CF said were in the works: can anyone shed any light on whose these folks are? What is their background? Track record of success, and so on? |

Regardless of what other teams do, I think G will be a highly sought after asset at the deadline and if traded the Flyers should get a haul. - jd250
i think it does matter what other teams do. G will be sought after, but if dallas is a seller, pavelski will also be highly sought after. That will absolutely impact G

I respect your posts and position BUT it appears the one thing that you aren't addressing on price is a reactionary move changes price. If the Avs went out and got Pavelski, then perhaps a team like Vegas, Tampa or Boston (etc) may feel heat to match the move rather than risk being outgunned. Nuclear deterrents happen often...price changes due to scarcity of resources and/or desperation.

I would rather have the 1st round pick. The Flyers need elite players. They won’t be receiving a top 6 forward or top 2 defenseman prospect in any trade since teams don’t really move those players anymore. The elcs are too valuable. I would rather have the lottery ticket in the 1st round, not that the Flyers have shown any ability lately to recognize that type of talent at the draft. |

So to not always dwell on the negative, my 3 big positives this season so far are:
1. Carter Hart - he is clearly a top goalie in his league
2. Cam York - he clearly belongs and will only get better once he gets away from Yandle
3. Oscar Lindblom - he may not be a top line player, but he is showing he will be a solid player in the top 9. |

Pavelski has a M-NTC where he can submit three teams he will agree to be traded to.

Dallas will probably sell at the deadline and if they determine they want to deal Pavelski he will be highly sought after also. But there will plenty of contending teams that will take either one of these players, so I think we will be fine. |

I stated such because its relevant to the conversation and will have an effect on where he can be dealt and what kind of trade can be made. No need to be a wienerhead about it.

Yes, I don't think he will be a big scorer in this league, but I do believe he will be a solid player that can help you win games by a timely goal or a big puck battle win. |

These are the guys they added earlier this season:
Mike O'Connell: the guy who traded Jumbo to the Sharks, lol. He's another "Senior Advisor", lol. Age 66.
Nick Beverley: not much to say about him... worked for the Preds as a pro scout. He's gonna continue to do that here. Age 74.
Matt Bardsley: worked for the Portland Winterhawks as a scout and AGM. Maybe had a hand in them unearthing dudes like RyJo, Dubinsky in later rounds of the bantam draft. He's gonna be an amateur scout here. Ridiculously punchable face. Age 50.
A couple of other guys got promoted internally.
So overall nothing really exciting. Just more dinosaurs to add to our little Jurassic Park. |

Gotta love this fanbase. Upset when the Flyers lose and upset when the Flyers win. They just cant win with the fans.
You either want them to lose for a better pick or be a team that plays well and is entertaining to watch. Pick a side, you cant have both |

ya, G has a clause to. It is relevant, just not sure how much. Especially for Joe, her hasn't been in dallas his whole career. I dont think it means a much him leaving to go to a potential winner as it does G.

Maybe....how many teams make a big move at the deadline? 5? 6? id say half of those want a D man. So then its shorting the options for G and Pavelski. Maybe throw JT miller in the mix as well. Just saying the deadline is a long way away, lots can happen. The best thing for the flyers is those other teams keep winning to stay in the hunt.
