So, are you saying it or is everyone else saying it? Which is it? And who is "everyone"? Your 3 friends from Syosset? Are you capable of your own thoughts?

Most important, do you have anything better to do with your life then come to a Devils blog (as a Ranger fan) and make racist quips and baseless comparisons about a uniform designed to celebrate the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture? I'm genuinely curious.

Its bad enough that our team sucks, we don't need trolls like you added to the equation.

I like how you criticize him for being racist while also making a marginal comment about the demographics of Syosset

I don't understand why any of you would respond to a troll - ever.

There is a real good article in the Athletic by Dom Luszczyszyn analyzing the Devs. Really insightful

Agreed, very good read. His midseason ranking of the Devils in a previous article was pretty spot on as well.

Love that Siegenthaler is getting some recognition from non-Devils people too.

We're lucky the Caps threw away a promising young player for a trash season of zombie Chara.

Absolutely. Also helps that we have a strong analytics team that can help try to find potential hidden gems like him.

I hope we get to see a Siegs-Dougie pairing at some point once Dougie gets back

We already know Gritsyuk made the Russian Olympic team, but today Mukhamadullin was added to the teams' reserve list!

Jimbro is certainly not a troll. I would question his mental state as he roots for the Rags…..but he’s not a troll

Just an FYI, I remember seeing some posts here on Gritsyuk. Yes he is going to Olympics and he is third on Avangard Omsk (KHL) in scoring in his first full KHL season. But he is signed until 2022-2023, so he will not be able to help the Devils until 2023-2024.

NHL teams can buy their Russian players out of their KHL contracts if they want btw. So if he wants to come over and the Devils think its best for his development they could make it happen. I'd like to get him over here into the AHL to start getting used to the NA rinks, but I'm totally fine with him staying over there for one more year. He's still only 20, so not a big deal

KHL is slightly different than European teams. The NHL has a transfer agreement with other European leagues, meaning NHL teams can pay the agreed transfer agreement to get someone out of an existing contract from pretty much all other European leagues. But the NHL doesn't have a transfer agreement with the KHL, which means NHL teams cannot do anything if the player is under KHL contract and the player himself will have to buyout his own contract. I believe the buyout is usually 2/3 of the remaining contract value, so that's why this doesn't happen all that much. Sometimes KHL team and player mutually agree to void a contract, meaning the player gets out of the deal without paying anything.

They can though. It has happened in the past and there's been a ton of discussion about it recently because of Michkov in the next draft and him signing an extension. NHL teams can pay KHL teams to void the contract allowing the player to leave and go to North America. Frank Seravali and Chris Peters talk about on their pod and the Athletic hockey pod with Pronman talk about it as well. Sometimes they don't do it though and force the player to play out the rest of the deal though.

In Gristyuk case it doesn't matter anyway, he's not NHL ready and will likely need a year or two in the AHL so it's not like he would immediately help this team. I don't think anybody expected him to be on the NHL roster in the next 2 years? He needs to prove this season isn't a flash in the pan/one year wonder. From what I've seen, everyone thinks the projection is he plays one more full KHL season next year, then a full year in the AHL the following year, then he could possibly make the jump to the NHL.

Let him keep playing till he’s 24. Then he can come over and win the Calder. Everyone’s doing it.

Holtz with another goal and assist so far for Utica after the 1st. This kid better be brought up after the break here, hes too good for the AHL. Time for him to learn to play in the NHL and get adjust to the speed.

But then we would risk losing Geertsen on waivers. Can’t have that.

Mercer and smith can be sent down without waivers, so, we’re good.
