4th, even better. That's not bad over 42 games. As long as they don't have David Ayers in net we can take Carolina.
- Zezel

Crazy thing about that game:

Riemer, Mrazek, Ayres and Andersen were the goalies. All with strong ties to the Leafs.

Since Campbell plays in the all star game will it be Mrazek getting the start for the leafs?
- Dozzer

I don't know, but probably. Give him the start against his old club? Jack already lost to Carolina earlier this year, but we were scuffling in October, so it'll be an interesting matchup regardless.

I just find that the way to beat Carolina is with speed up the ice. They have a deep and aggressive forecheck, so if your defensemen can make a solid outlet pass to a moving forward, you can trap two guys on the rush, but you almost need set breakout plays against them because they have the aggressive forecheck and try to close off the neutral zone to try and catch you on the turnover on the rush.

They are an amazing counter punch team and the Leafs often lead with their chin, so to speak.

But if you take your time, they'll smother you, so you have to moving and moving the puck. I've said before, I love the way Carolina plays. I just hate when they play that way against us.

Ayres can always say he has a perfect save percentage against Auston Matthews, that's pretty cool for him.

Chet Baker my favourite version of These Foolish Things

For this song, the lyrics are important, so I prefer other versions including the one by Bryan Ferry. I really like his Chet's version of My Funny Valentine and he played it when my father took me to see him in Montreal in the 80's before heroin took over Chet's life.

Yeah, Chet Sings or whatever it’s called is great and that’s my favourite on there. I guess I know the words well enough that I like the version without. Billie H does a great version as well obviously

I think it's our 4th. I hope, but am doubtful, that we run it to 6. Carolina is our kryptonite.

Leafs have gained some ground on the Canes so it should be a good test. 4 of the top 5 teams in the NHL are in the East, with the Avs at the top.

Colorado .773
Carolina .762
Florida .734
Toronto .726
Tampa .717

Sorry for the late reply but thank you for the solid answer.

I like the idea of giving Mrazek the chance against them… will be that little extra motivation like you were insinuating

I’m a bit afraid of their forecheck tho… as crazy as it sounds this year I'm hoping Muzzin will be good to go by that game… just hoping as I said tho… not banking on it

So we talk about trades for Dmen and well it's still early. Way too early to know all the sellers since it's about 2 months away.

Also, if Dubas does make it move, he usually makes moves we don't see. Campbell and Muzzin are both moves people didn't expect but both turned out pretty well.

We shall see.

I've blocked that out of my memory, I don't think that happened.

We scored on Grabner, A LOT.

Actually no, if you look at the current standings in the East only, the top 8 teams are virtually playoff locks. Only three teams Islanders, CBJ and the Wings have any chance at a wild card. They would all need miraculous runs and either Boston or Washington to play below .500 for the rest of the season. That makes 8 teams sellers in early February in the East alone.

We deem them sellers but it doesn't mean they think they are yet. Well except total hot garbage.

So we are both right? There's not "no sellers" but there isn't a clear picture on the total market and maybe there's a guy on a bubble team Dubas and Co are looking at.

Well, they are in. You have to like that. I'm not much of a soccer fan, but I'm fully supportive for all of my friends who are. I'm sure if they're in the World Cup I'll watch.

They're not officially in yet, but they're up 4-1 with ten minutes left in the 3rd period of Game 7 basically.

Oh, Canada is rolling. Not hating on that.

I was talking about the other guys. Canada player gets within 5 feet and they're already prepping their dive.

Canada player actually got a yellow card for the guy on the other team stomping on our foot and diving. And the ref went with it.

1-0 Canadian Women's team but the goal is being challenged.

Olympics have the NHL rule about losing challenge is a penalty?

EDIT: After an unnecessary 10 minute review, it is determined that challenging for a high-stick doesn't get you a penalty for being wrong.
