The Canucks could use someone to say "don't" when someone from the eye test club says let's pay a prospect and 2nd round pick for toughness on D.

To me it looks like a "needed" hire to keep up with the growing abundance of analytics in hockey.

That article I posted on page 1 shows a paints a good picture of what the future looks like for NHL teams.

Canucks are usually behind the times and it's good to get someone young that understands where they will need to be in the future to keep up with the rest of the league.

I believe Emilie Castonguay is also one of those people . Rachel to me , I get the impression is an attention getter. I look at her and think she will say bold sh1t just to get noticed.

Listening to some of her stuff from before and reading the articles that came out after.

She is a very young girl who has been let into the old boys club. If she wants to be heard, she has to be loud. She seems very bright. She's just in a world run by men that have hid a lot of crap over the years and I don't think she's going to put up with being treated like a little girl in a man's world. Good on her for speaking up.

Emile took a different path and is 12 years older. She has gained trust from her peers in a different way. She's had seasoning as a lawyer and as a player agent.

For hockey in general, I think these are good hires. I sure hope they succeed for the team sake but also for the change in hockey culture.

I agree about the old boys club. I see a lot of well informed , knowledgeable females involved with football baseball hockey and sports in general. You also see a lot of loudmouths (male and female trying to make a name for themselves). She reminds me of JD Burke . Someone that can get on your nerves very quickly.
