You make good points just not sure I'm there. Boudreau showed what this club can do healthy winning 10/12 I don't think that's a fluke. Benning is responsible for alot of the core here from good drafting it will pay dividends eventually - LordHumungous
Please define, also, aren't all of Bennings good drafting players, the ones that are all struggling the most? |

Should take a look at a team like Anaheim, if you want to see a team with decent drafting. They have 6 current players on the roster from 2015 to present with at least 8 solid prospects signed and another 4-6 decent prospects on the reserve list. |

Respectfully, since you were dead-wrong on Hughes the drafting of Pettersson-Boeser-Demko-Hogs-Pods-Hughes is a good future IMO. Not Crosby Malkin good but good nonetheless. Patience. |

You are the 1 saying good drafting, which I disagreed with.
I will use 3 teams as examples, that have started rebuilding around the same time as the Canucks, look at the players they have drafted that are on their team, signed and playing as prospects and the reserve lists, then tell me Benning is good at drafting, because he would ranked 4th out of these 4 teams, that started rebuilds around the same time.
Anaheim, Los Angeles and Detroit. |

It's easy to jump on board the ANA LA and DET bandwagon as the teams have had some luck and some good showings so far this year. When this club 'started' rebuilds and when it actually happened are two different arguments lol. I like what we have so far and that 10/12 win streak wasn't a fluke IMO when the club was healthy under Boudreau. A taste of the good drafting that we had as far as I'm concerned. Just Hope that Rutherford doesn't start pulling his 'all or nothing' deals like he did in PIT lol. Could be good and bad with that guy. I'm ok with moving on from Miller but Boeser-Petey-Hogs-Pods-Hughes-Demko no way. |

Nonis wasn't around long enough to be the worst. Benning will go in the ring of honour for being the most inept at all facets of the job. - Marwood

Canucks have 18 games before the deadline. I would say that they have accumulate 24 points during that time to stay in the playoff race. - manvanfan
Ya its unlikely but i agree they need to have another winning streak to have a shot |

You do realize the guy you’re responding to thinks Ken Holland is a genius as well. |

I have been complimenting LA and Detroit for some decent drafting for several years, and Anaheim over the past couple years, so I wouldn't call that jumping on board a bandwagon, it is recognizing that a team is doing a good job.
Another team that has started to draft well is Columbus, in 1 draft they ended with 4 or 5 very nice prospects. |

Rangers started after as well lol
Benning was above average at drafting. He had high picks which helps but still did ok. He literally poop the bed on everything else |

From what I have read here, he has been good this year. I have only seen 2 games early on season and the last 6 games, can't say he was good, but better than last season, for sure. |

A good take…

3 deep at C Miller Bo & Petey unless Miller traded or Petey stays a winger. If Miller is gone Petey has to be a C. Still down a C that can give offence. - Nighthawk
