Once I was flying from Phoenix to Denver, and two young, college hockey players were in front of me. I could smell their Denver University bags lol, so I made a joke about how I could know that smell from anywhere and asked them what they were doing playing in Arizona.
The one kid was Troy Terry. That's my hockey story. He was a very nice kid, this was before he even played his first NHL game. |

Briere Asst GM about to be a announced? - mikeyo27
Not exactly. Per Elliotte Friedman, the title will be "special assistant to the GM". Sounds the same as assistant GM but it's not. Basically, it'll be putting an official title (and some more money, no doubt) to what Briere is already doing. He'll go/do whatever Fletcher asks, provide feedback to Fletcher and hockey ops and participate in the meetings. But Brent Flahr will still oversee scouting/drafting operating, be the de fact general manager of the Phantoms, etc.

Wheeler in the Athletic on Attard ,
“ He has always been a high-ceiling, low-floor, boom-or-bust talent who could be really interesting with the right development but the more I watch him, the higher his floor begins to feel. I’m not prepared to safely project him into the NHL or anything but he should be a no-brainer to sign and work with.”
The possible problem with Attard is that he is an over age draft pick, he can now become a UFA 30 days after announcing his pro eligibility. The Flyers can easily loose him as they did Kalynuk.
Also, Wheeler ranks the 5’8” Andrae as a better NHL prospect than Attard. I’m not sure what that says. |

I don’t care for wrestling, but if you’ve never heard comedian Dan Soder do his Randy Savage impression, I suggest anyone google/YouTube it. He has it nailed down, and it slays me. It’s not just the excited Randy, either. He’s got the whole build up down pat.
Does a decent Andre, too.
Edit - found a quickie of it

I don't think they anticipate a problem with signing Attard. There's mutual interest from all indications. Kalynuk seemed to have had his mind made up to become a UFA and handpick a destination among the offers. Flyers did want to sign him, but he felt the quickest road was in Chicago. |

Thats impossible. He's an awful leader, crappy player and is the sole reason the Flyers have failed time after time

If CC is captaining a team you can be sure they will be the worst performing - Fopa21
This certainly aged well. |

Isaac- The Flyers have largely been trying to develop him as a fourth-line type
Makes total sense to take a high 2nd rd pick and mold him onto a 4th line player. God forbid you work with him on the hi strengths try to mold him into maybe a scorer. |

Thank you
Same reason he is never invited to team Canada for Olympics.
Solid 3rd liner but not a captain material to lead men to victory |

Time to trade giroux.....his value will never be higher
Solid 3rd liner, would look good on the penguins....if he wants a Stanley cup - penguininnevada
Yep, he definitely looks out of place on the ice today, as a "solid third liner". |

Watching G today angers me. Imagine if Flyers management had ever been able to surround him with a complete team. The hope is that he can be traded for some real young talent to start to dig out from this deep hole we're in. I can live with some of the prospect/picks possibilities I saw on the internet. Any thoughts on possible HC candidates? Can't see Yeo sticking around |

Other than the Avs and Panthers it sure looks like all the teams gearing up for the playoffs are roughly in the same pack with ‘Goals For’ numbers. Could set up for a nice bidding war over Giroux, depending on what teams he’s open to.
Most intriguing seem to be the Rags and Caps as they both have an extra 2nd round pick this year. (None of the playoff bound teams have any extra 1st’s nor do they own any non playoff team 1st’s this year fwiw)
Defensively Pens and Caps are giving up quite a few goals. Possible landing spots for RR? |

My guess is the best HC candidates probably haven’t been canned from their current jobs yet. Someone is going to miss the playoffs and get cut over it.
