Can’t totally disagree that the last decade hasn’t been very fun to watch. But I don’t blame their best player. If the Flyers has surrounded him with the proper pieces it could have been a different outcome. To me Giroux’s been a great captain. He’s an ultra competitive guy who guys will follow. The problem in my view has been the guys they brought into follow him….not all of them, but in my opinion not enough talent to take advantage of G’s best years, where buy he played at a HOF level.

I agree. I'm not blaming Giroux for the lack of team success. I don't think he's had enough talent surrounding him to win big. That said, he has come up small in the playoffs over the last 4 playoff appearances. Just stating facts.

Agree with that. I have zero confidence Fletcher will get a "haul" for Giroux as some suggest. I think if he is traded majority will be disappointed/underwhelmed with the return.

Hard to disagree with that in any way. All depends how many teams CC opens it up to, if any.

Hopefully Chuck was watching and is ready to offer him a 4 year ext for 25 million to get hi to stay....

Giroux is gone. He’s already talking about the flyers in the past tense in interviews

I hope so then they can turn the page. Like to see many of the players who have been here while move on.

Will CC open the bidding to several teams will be the big question.

I hoping for at least a 1st and prospect for Giroux, as most contending teams could probably afford that. I think most would like to see him have a chance to win a cup. I also hope he is open to resigning a " team friendly deal" in the off season as I would like to see him retire in Philly.

Have to believe Giroux will want out of this current mess. I would think he would welcome a trade to any team he views as a legit contender. I could see 6-8 teams being seriously interested.

Dont agree 100%. He has never asked out before when he should have, so we shall see if this tie is different.

All up to him to let the bidding war begin.

This is hilarious. You think putting up goals and points in a glorified exhibition game means something?

Would have been nice to see some of this offense when it matters, instead of disappearing to the tune of 4 goals in his last 35 playoff games.

This IS hilarious bc look at how many of you got your panties wadded just by me saying something non bashing about the guy

Thank you for proving my point

You are right if it doesnt prove your point, it doesnt count.

Giroux not a Hall of Famer? Giroux has a better Points per game than Marian Hossa, I also like how his stats are better than Lindros but then you grasp at straws stating "What he could have done was better than Giroux if he didnt get concussed." Love how what could have been is relevant only when it suits your point.

Giroux's point totals could have been better if he didnt have a poor hip for a few seasons and lost games to COVID\Shutdowns. Im sure since they dont prove your point they dont count

He’s 34. Another 4-5 years of good production is pretty wishful imo.
- hereticpride

Disagree, he’s proven himself durable and it’s not a surprise to see guys playing at a high level well into their late 30s. His playmaking skills have always been upper echelon so he’s always been able to be a consistent point producer .

This how Couts developed. Actually, though it was due to need, Couturier's offensive development was stunted by his usage early in his career. It was only when Dave Hakstol was smart enough to put him in better offensive situations, that his point totals ballooned. Making a player earn a opportunity to play in a situation that is best for his development, is archaic. Especially when you're a team that is going nowhere. Make an investment in your young player and put him in the best position to succeed. Rather than making him earn it right out of the bat. Frost got that part of his teaching and development in the AHL. He's a scoring line player. Play him on a scoring line with scoring line player.

But a lot of hockey, especially at the NHL level, is doing the little things well, like leveraging your body, winning a battle, knowing where to go on the ice, etc. Yes Frost is a scoring line player, however you saw how he looked in pre-season, and even his first batch of games on the Phantoms and then on the Flyers. He looked lost and was hardly noticeable. Its when he was forced to learn the these little, but most important, things has he become more noticeable and his offensive talent more recognizable. Yeo may not be the head coach after this season, and may never be a head coach in this league again, but I think he has done a really good job in what has become a very difficult situation.

Yeo hasn't done a dam thing to show that he belongs in the NHL as a head coach.
