Exactly. Probably only 4 players if a roster player like Chytil/Gaut are moved to fill those holes.
- TC88

Chytil, Gaut, Krav, possibly even Nils may all be moved plus a bunch of picks.

I just wished that we wouldnt wait til the deadline to do a couple of these as some holes are immensely glaring, LHD and 3C. I would have loved for them to grab a LHD and Copp during the break this way we have a month to continue to access leading to the deadline.

Aside from the picks they're essentially trading players the team would like to deal. At some point, we'll have to recognize they may have to deal someone they would prefer not to deal in order to make the team better.

has anyone noticed how well Brett Howden is doing

Vegas has gotta make space very soon, Rangers should look into reuniting Karlsson with the coach that made his career

I wonder when the last time a team made three trades at the deadline for starting roster players.
- Bean_Dip

Hard to do until the trade deadline because of the 23-man roster limit. At 12:01 AM on deadline day the limit is lifted so multiple trades can be made by each team.

I get that however if you think about it, a trade for G/Pav/Miller is the only one where a significant asset would move.

Chytil may not have turned out the way we wanted but hes still 22 with 4 seasons under his belt. Im sure theres a team out there that would give it a shot.

Krav was at one point one of the best prospects coming out of Russia, hes still playing well, his attitude will hurt his value. Im sure theres a team that would love to low-ball us here knowing how high the reward could be.

Jones / Nils very talented puck moving defensemen. Would be disappointed to see Jones go, but in my own curiosity would love to see Robertson play.

We dont have “wow-omg” prospects but theyre decent enough for the trades we need.

Remember being pretty excited about him his first season here but then he just got worse and worse. He did get stuck with some pretty bad players the last 2 seasons.

Not sure how either team would make that work. We'd need Vegas to retain and well they are not in a position to do that.

You just wonder if Howden had been here with GG if things would have gone different with him here.

vegas is defintiely in no position to retain at all, I just get the feeling Karlsson is the guy they are looking to dump

You're right, but I have no clue who would want him. He's kinda fallen off a cliff. At half of even 75% of his cap hit, maybe a roll the dice with him, but taking him at his full cap hit means we can't resign Strome. I'd rather have Strome than him at this point.

I can't believe ol Willy is already 29, and taking all those remaining years on his contract is a huge risk to anyone at this point.

I’m against giving away a 1st round draft pick for a rental unless we can resign him. I read somewhere that the KHL cancelled the remainder of there season. Wonder if the rangers can get Krav to come over unless his feeling are still hurt.

Crazy how deep Vegas is at C. Practically half of their forwards are listed as centers. With Eichel coming back I think he could be moved too and at 50% retention I think he’d be a steal ($2.95M). Would essentially be replacing Chytil as 3C. Doubt Vegas would retain that much for 5 more years though.

Stranger things have happened, but I think Krav is done here no matter what. He's had a good season in the KHL, not sure how much trade value he has at this point.

If you think that we are picking in the late 20s at worst, trading a 1st for a rental isn't a terrible idea. It might be a season early to make that move, but this team is ready to win now, at some point you just have to go for it.

It's why I don't really buy them at trade partners. I know everyone wants Reilly Smith and he'd do good here, but there really is not a match between us and them.

With the way hes playing and how guys like Stephenson and Roy had done, plus some of the existing guys. I could def see Karlsson and Dadonov on their way out.

Typically Id agree, but this year were in a unique position to make a push for the Cup, however its something I hope the team doesnt ruin.

Anyone want conner garland? Apparently he’s available I saw in a couple of places. 25 yr old RW w/a decent contract

For a reasonable cost, I'd do it. Don't know what the Yotes would want in return

Because it's a bit slow in here, wonder what it would cost to get Garland and Miller? We'd have to give some salary back for future seasons, but fun to think about.

I dont see the need for the Rangers to acquire a winger like Garland who is signed long term close to 5 mil a year, he's signed until 2026

I know everyone is gonna say that Vancouver would have to retain but I don't see them doing that

Its not a good move for us. The contract will hinder things.
