Neil is a bit tarnished in my eyes now

everything he stood for with freedom went out the window the past few weeks

I find it funny those artists like crosby who sold their music rights, demand their music gets pulled down

This could be that draft though, some good hockey players are gonna drop cause of what has happened the last few years.
- Buff36

ive heard that about every draft for the past 20 years.

Not that exact thing, just that good talent will be available late because of X.

The value of these picks dramatically drops as the year goes on and the team of said pick has a higher selection.

Should have traded it when Vegas was a bottom 10 team

I would NEVER EVER, EVER keep a late first round pick, They far less then a coin flip of being successful...But we will stock pile them

- hehateme

I understand you want a pick in the first round every year and I get that i guess, but you are going to have top 5 pick.

move the other two now.

GMs love being able to get a first round pick back in a trade.

Why are teams lining up to give us their good players for said picks then? It can't work both ways.

Don't get me wrong, I would trade those late1st for the right pieces. But if he can get some extra 2nd 3rd rnd picks, might just get lucky

because like ive said 100000 times before, GMs overvalue the late first round picks.

The trade is
1st rd pick, 3rd rd pick and a mid level prospect.

getting a "first round pick" is huge

See Eichel, Jack Trade.

You know what's even more troubling, go back over the last 20 years or so. Not only have we really never "hit" on a late first rounder, we have NEVER hit on a 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th rounder either, last was maybe Ullmark or Foligno..

with all due respect Gerbs the chance of finding a guy in the late 20s to be an impact top 6 player is like 3%.

Hell the chance of a late first round guy even making the NHL is about 40%

id move the picks if I could.

- ImThatGuy

Thats true but with covid these players didn't have a chance to rise up more unknown thats a risk i understand but That sometimes could lead to superstars .

I believe having alex tuch,Krebs = jack .

I'm gonna say something that a lot of people won't agree with i believe alex tuch will become what Briere was to us when we first got him and turn into a superstar with being the" face"

To be fair. COVID or non Covid. The nhl draft is a crapshoot and random.

I see the panthers are building their depth signing an undrafted goalie, Mack Guzda

we fill out our 50 contracts with 28 year old never will be goalies

- homiedclown

Sabres might have made him an offer. Apparently the Panthers beat out several other teams that showed interest in signing him.

He was at FL’s development camp in ‘19, so there’s some history of interest in him there. Luongo being part of their management/goalie development team is also a huge draw.

Thats true but i believe more prospects have more value come late picks due to that and scouts miss on the opportunity to look at them beacuse of that .

But you're correct

Eichel is better than Briere ever was, the organization is not a Briere away from being competitive let alone using 2 roster spots to make up for 1 player, hoping for late round draft picks while your current plan is failing is par for the course for Pegula with the Sabres.

Like it or not, some Sabres management might not like to hear it but they absolutely suck and couldn’t sell out the harbor center for an NHL game.

Based on purely hockey …. No locker room issues or off ice stuff.

You always always take the elite talent.

The Sabres need offensive talent. How many left handed d do we need

I don’t trust cozens as 1C. I don’t trust mitts. Quinn etc.

We need an elite talent again

Some good players there, Zion is a huge man. And Jones is very interesting.
