This is not directed at you, just a general statement, but the noise around Pettersson suddenly being tradeable is nothing short of laughable. The kid came in as a 19 year old and had two fantastic seasons. He lead the team in scoring his first year in the league. So he held out of training camp and had a poor 40 games thus far, suddenly he’s shit

He’s certainly not a superstar player but he is a very good piece of the future, you can’t have six superstars in your top six, you just have to have some good hockey players. Which he is.

It took MacKinnon until his 5th season to break a PPG (around 0.6 - 0.7 before that), Barzal has regressed since his rookie season, Nylander after his contract dispute, etc....

Now I think he doesn't look like himself at the moment, and maybe his ego got the better of him, but the kid is a damn good player and I'm sure he's going to bounce back. I agree that trading him is pretty absurd, unless it was an egregious overpayment
