Either Newhook or Girard works for me. The Avs first this year wouldn't help for years if ever. Fletcher gets paid to work these deals. When i losted how important an off season this is, it really starts here. Gotta get foundational pieces and build. Bill, there are some young guys already here with Farabee and York. We've seen some of what Frost brings, what is his upside...in your opinion?

I love Jason's podcast and I really enjoy when you join him Bill. However I think Jason is off his rocker if he things Colorado would trade one of their top 4 defenseman in Girard who players over 20 minutes a game for a rental. I think your idea of getting Newhook makes much more sense, however I can't see Colorado trading him straight up for G. I think the Flyers would have to give up more.

It doesn't look like Dallas will catch either St. Louis or Minnesota, so they may be looking to trade Pavelski. If so he would be more sought after than G, but there should be plenty of teams vying for G at the deadline.

The NMC will be waived, that is not an issue. Yes, there will be other forwards available at the deadline, however there will also be more than 1 contending team looking for a forward and thus G will be highly sought after. As I stated, no way Colorado is trading Newhook for G straight up, but what if the Flyers sweetened the deal by covering G's $1.6M owed and adding a pick or prospect?

Its G's right, however it doesn't make sense to the Flyers unless there are at least 5 teams he is willing to go to, given there will be other good forwards on the market at the deadline.

Thats funny because when Couturier, Hayes, Brassard and any other guy got hurt for the hundredth time you put that on the medical staff yet the same exact thing is why Ellis is out but thats Fletchers fault. The only joke bigger than the Flyers this season is your opinions.

I think it is pretty fair to say it is 100% that it be a playoff bound team. He will not waive to go to a team that is out of it.

NMC is not an issue he will waive it regardless. He may have a preference but he isnt going to stay here. He's going to a new team. He might not say it but there is frustration with this this team. He wants out while he has a chance to go to a contender. If Fletcher asks him to waive he will do it.
