Dreger on TSN 690: there is strong interest around the league in Jeff Petry. And there will be a strong market for him at the trade deadline.

gotta say I'm very surprised to hear this, but good news indeed. if Petry generates enough interest from multiple teams, it might be the perfect context for Hughes to create a bidding war and make the offers go up.

edit: the only issue might be his 15 team non-trade clause.

Still think you might get a better return in the summer, but whatever.

That is good news.

Now, if the same could be said for price..

Is Price easier to trade than Drouin?

I was expecting some interest, but not a strong one, considering just how bad he is right now. unless there's some undisclosed information that would explain why he's playing so poorly, my impression was that GMs might be throwing low-ball offers at the habs, but nothing more.

On the other side Dreger is stirring interest.

And that’s good

I'm not surprised at all. yes he had a down year, lets not forget the past 4. right handed top4 dmen who can skate and provide offense are very rare.

yeah but his individual play has completely fallen off a cliff, and with the salary he's making I'd be concerned were I a GM from another team looking for help on D.

Great first period of action but the usa have 16 shots to Canada’s 3. Canada’s young blue line needs to settle its nerves. I expect the vets to speak up in the locker room and see a calmer Canada in the 2nd. What a period by Desbiens! 1-0 Canada

saw some highlights of the previous game. don't remember her name, but a canadian dman skated backwards with the puck along the blue line to get a better angle and scored top corner with a wrister. better than half the Habs dcore could do.

Well, Petry is -7, but Chiarot is -25 and everyone wants him.

That being said, the only players that are not negative on the Habs this year are Sami Niku (+3), Jesse Ylonen (+2), Mattias Norlinder (+2), Corey Schueneman (+1), Mathieu Perreault (0), Alex Belzile (0), Brandon Baddock (0), and Cameron Hillis (0).

FWIW... this whole team is basically a negative, the team has a -74 goal differential (98 for, 172 against). Plus / minus don't tell the whole story, or even a big part of the story, until the numbers get this stupid big.

The soft spoken and the quiet ones are the very ones that you should always be the most worried about.
