Clancey oversees everyone underneath him, while Allvin oversees Clancey and Rutherford mentors Allvin. - Reubenkincade
i like the expanded front office. i've thought and posted for several seasons that the front office needed a cultural and systemic change.
the reasons all these hirings seem a "bit much" is because the idiot previously couldn't organize a closet let alone a billion dollar organization.
i like the expanded front office. i'll wait to evaluate the moves to say whether i like the hirings.
but so far, good on rutherford for expanding the organizational chart. |

I suggest you, and the others who are on about diversity hires for the Canucks/other places, read this article. It's quite good: it's about 9/11 and the CIA's hiring practices that arguably lead to their collective blind spots to the threat that faced them. Basically, a room full of middle class white men who hired middle class white men didn't perceive/recognize the threat that a Muslim man sitting in a cave possessed because their biases and backgrounds didn't pick up on the allusions, scale, and cultural/religious history that was being spoken to.
Here's the article: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49582852
Whilst running an NHL team isn't the same as defending a country, the key similarity is in intelligence. Having a more diverse group of people with different backgrounds and experiences allows for less blind spots in the organization. It's a move away from the old boys club, and hopefully will lead to a better run team. - NewYorkNuck
Very interesting, thanks. |

You bet, I don't mind how things are shaping up, but as a long suffering Canucks fan, I will be patient for a season or 2, but criticize and analyze every move until then. |

Yup. I will wait to see the moves to criticize the gm but I support having a larger organizational depth chart. |

Yup, it's nice to see some one who presents a cohesive plan and then proceeds to implement it..
I know it scares some cavemen to give some women power but hey, they're allowed to vote and drive cars so why not. |

I think if you put the gender card away and look at the moves overall that were made this year by the club there are a lot of question marks .
We hired the Sedins as special advisor to a GM that is no longer here. What they were advising no one is really sure and seems more like a publicity move much like Linden. Both with no previous experience.
Next we hire a President who was terrible at drafting and on the back slope when he left Pittsburgh .
He hires his former assistant as GM with no previous GM experience.
Next we hire an analytic person who basically asked the owner to sell the team because he was useless.
Then we hire a pro scout to be our first AGM to run the scouting department . First time AGM.
Next we hire a player agent to be our second signing of an AGM again no previous experience at that position.
Next we hire another scout who helped assemble an AHL roster for the NHL Seattle Kraken. We make them another AGM of scouting . Again first time AGM no experience. Not only that but her husband ridicules this team on a weekly regularity.
So I get that a lot of people wanted the last group of managers and coaches out so badly that they would have welcomed Roberto Luongo as the new GM but man there are some huge question marks.

I'll likely find a way to stream it rather than go to a theater where I can't have weed and booze to get me through it. |

Well said on all counts. Red Flags to be sure but we'll see where it goes I'm thinking a 2-4 year plan. Might not fit the narratives but needed to be said well done.

'The 542 drone strikes that Obama authorized killed an estimated 3,797 people, including 324 civilians. As he reportedly told senior aides in 2011: “Turns out I’m really good at killing people. Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.”'

I think some will work and some wont.
My biggest question mark is how will they get it done? Rutherford mentioned his concern about cap. How do you open up cap? You basically do the same thing Benning did or sell off assets like what the Leafs did. I don't think JR is going to magically make Tyler Myers look attractive to another GM without giving up assets.

Obviously willing to give them all the benefit of the doubt but as you pointed out there are huge concerns moving forward. See where it goes. Personally I think Rutherford is a wild wild card here as you mentioned he was on the down slope of a career in PIT and doesn't have a Crosby-Malkin_letang here to build around. Well Hughes maybe but Petey and Boeser ain't no Crosby/Malkin... |

We are going to find out soon who wears the pants in that family.
We will see if he was just trying to sell podcasts by rallying the troops with anger or if he has the stones to call the Canucks a bunch of clowns now that his wife is a big part of the circus.
