It wasn't as bad as Hunter, but then Hunter was suspended 7 times before hand either.

Several things about this:
1) Marchand should get at least 10, hopefully a good amount more but I doubt it because NHL secretly wants this stuff

2) Marchand does this deliberately at the end of games when he can be ushered off into the locker room and not face the music. Also he does it when the other team’s smaller players or Star players are on the ice so there is less chance for retaliation. POS.

3) I agree the Pens’ response sucked. I was pissed. But when you look at it, what options did they really have? Letang was restrained by Bruins and/or the refs. If he muscles or bumps a ref trying to get to Marchand he gets 10 games automatically. You really want Crosby or Guentzel breaking their hand in a fight against that rat? Not even close to worth the risk. Someone comes off the bench? Automatic 10 games. So we’re left with “take a number and get him Next time”. Unsatisfying. “Let the league handle it”. They won’t. And that’s why hockey is a third rate sport.

For this, I'd like to see 20 games minimum. Even if Jarry was running his mouth, didn't look like he did anything physical to provoke this. Given the obvious one-sidedness to this, I'd say call it intent to injure. Given Marchand's history, give him 20 games. Maybe, just maybe, that would be enough of a hit to the pocket that he would change his ways. Doubtful, but it's a strong message to do so.

Have seen much worse every game during battles in front of net or in the corners.

He deserves 5-7 games and that's likely what he'll get.

I think Marchand will get 8 games. The Pens have been nothing more than the ICE CAPADES for years. That keeps the Analytical aholes happy. Isn't that right Wilson you little Buffalo Boy.

Marchand is a POS and has always been one because nothing happens to him when he plays dirty. He can play clean if he is finally taught a lesson. He should be suspended for at least 10 games and then fined as well.

I really hate Marchand too but it didn’t seem like an injury occurred, looks like a 2-3 game because of his history, this was really just unsportsmanlike conduct. if it was a player that doesn’t have a history probably a fine or 1 game.
