Several things about this:
1) Marchand should get at least 10, hopefully a good amount more but I doubt it because NHL secretly wants this stuff
2) Marchand does this deliberately at the end of games when he can be ushered off into the locker room and not face the music. Also he does it when the other team’s smaller players or Star players are on the ice so there is less chance for retaliation. POS.
3) I agree the Pens’ response sucked. I was pissed. But when you look at it, what options did they really have? Letang was restrained by Bruins and/or the refs. If he muscles or bumps a ref trying to get to Marchand he gets 10 games automatically. You really want Crosby or Guentzel breaking their hand in a fight against that rat? Not even close to worth the risk. Someone comes off the bench? Automatic 10 games. So we’re left with “take a number and get him Next time”. Unsatisfying. “Let the league handle it”. They won’t. And that’s why hockey is a third rate sport. - Sams_Dog

Why are you ignoring the Canadian truckers freedom movement Ek? You guys constantly mention the ridiculous 500 fans allowed at these games in Canada, the truckers are attempting to end that madness. You guys had no problem declaring that "Trudeau was right for Canada" on the buzzcast months ago.... now he is in hiding! lol - DanielEtvs

The punch was bad enough. The stick blade to the face/ throat area is ridiculous. Twenty would be warranted. - Sinisalo4vr
Well the league disagreed with you and the other douche nozzle and banned him for 6. Good luck with your next way off target outrage. Jack ass.

I think this incident would not have happened if the NHL did not, inexplicably, always go easy on Boston players for past infractions. This is especially true with Marchand.
I would agree that 10 is a minimum. Because the stick is very close to Jarry's neck, I would double that. |

Not sure that Im not just repeating someones point. Crosby has been shown to more than be able to handle himself with his hands. I would have LOVED to have seen him wipe the ice with that piece of poop. |

For me its not really the severity of what he did, its really how many times he has been suspended and the longest he has rec'd is 6 games. been suspended 2 times in the last 10 weeks and really the punishments don't get any longer. Suspended 8 times none longer then 6 games is really a Joke. if this were Tom Wilson he would be getting 30-40 games by now

The NHL's idea of progressive discipline for repeat offenders must be to add one game for each suspendable offense. He'll get to 10 games in a few more years. |

What's with the "referees" over on Augello's blog and why are they a pack of sissy babies??
They get so offended and hurt by the tedious of things, there should be spine checks before becoming a mod, you can't be handing that poop out like tik tacs. I bet being a mod on here is the highlight of some of their lives.

you all hate Marchand but deep down he probably offers more interesting conversations than the inconsequential day to day activities of the nhl |

David Quinn?? You have to be REALLY disconnected from the reality to ever write such a thing, there was like -100000% chance that this would happen |
