[quote=Feanor]The thing that stood out to me about MacEwen was him celebrating his assist like it was a game winning goal, stealing a rookie's moment in the process.
And that he was scored on twice, lowering his ES GF% for the year to a sad 33.3% - 10 GF and 20 GA. The only players with a lower GF% are Yandle, Hayes, Bunnaman and Thompson."
So, the guy celebrates something good and you are miffed because he was TOO excited.
Jeez, you must be heck at family dinners.

Yes, but after a few seconds a coach has to realize there is only 4 players on the ice and get someone out there. Come on. - PLindbergh31
Not a good start for the new PP coach. Lol |

They are on their way to ruining a good quality young player. His game will start to erode if this keeps up. Guaranteed. It's too much weight for anyone player. The have to make a coaching change and bring in a temp coach who is actually going to improve something and get this team playing better and more sound in the fundamentals of the NHL game. - MJL
Yeah, totally agree with bolded. Hart's play to this point, specifically how he's bounced back from last year's struggles, has been one of the very few bright spots of this season. Really seems that he worked to get himself right coming into this year and it's a shame that this is what he now has to look forward to for the next 2 months. |

Purge the Saint Ronnie players as soon as you can. How many coaches have siad this? Are they all wrong or lying?
Start over - hello it's me 2050
Pretty funny blaming Hextall for a nightmarishly bad PP that featured Brassard, Ristolainen, Yandle and Mayhew. When are we gonna start purging Fletcher's follies?

Why is Fletcher still employed with the team?

If you trade Jones maybe you take back the other teams backup. I can see jones to the pens for Desmith and a mid rd pick. Though what your saying def is possible. - hello it's me 2050
Good point. The other team might actually prefer that the Flyers take back their current back-up since they wouldn't really need him any longer, and to help make the salaries work. Didn't think of that |

In real time he thought the goal was his, and based on the play it was a completely reasonable thought.

The whole “Yandle is a great guy” crap is such utter b.s. If he gave a damn about anything but his f’n streak, he’d show some actual class and retire immediately. He’s a total fraud, has no business playing in the NHL and worse he’s hogging a roster spot that should be York’s right now.
- BiggE
Is there any strategic consistency amongst Flyers fans? York/Frost would benefit from getting playing time on a bad team where their mistakes would be magnified. But Carter Hart would suffer from getting the time on the same team because he will lose his confidence?
Also, I agree with xShoot4WarAmpsx. If we all agree we need 3L33t talent, how does it matter which way we go if we get closer to that goal? Is it injuries? Poor mgmt? $ driven myopia? Tanking? Gee, I dunno. But am pleased all those roads lead to the desired goal. I am hoping the stretch ahead yields no wins, not until the Hawks game at the earliest.
We owe Yandle a debt of gratitude for coming here and providing the excuse of the streak to improve our draft position.
And as for the coach we may forever be in debt to him for his Yeoman service.

Instead of checking with the kid who actually scored his first NHL goal and almost certainly would have felt the puck hit his leg, he wildly celebrated a first period goal that he didn't even score because he's a plug with four points all season. Playing a guy like that every single game is one of may reasons the Flyers are the league's 6th worst team.
And please don't give me the twitter poop about how much "energy" he brings. He's a 4th liner who can't kill penalties an gets outscored 20-10 at ES. That's not good. |

Was entertaining, in a frustrating kind of way, watching Bill swat at some Hart detractors on Twitter last night.

Not what I am blaming the Saint for at all. Not sure how you think it is about the PP.
Saint Ronnie's crew knows nothing but losing. They have accepted losing. Did you see what the coach said? Hasn't prior coach's said something similar?
The current GM is also a failure.

Goalies are much different than skaters. A skater can have a bad game and quietly drop down in minutes. A goalie who has a bad game might have to be yanked.
Hart has also been a NHL regular for four seasons now. It's not a similar situation at all to Frost and York. |

What about the first, second, third liners who are getting paid millions of dollars who are being outscored at ES, but yes it’s all the fourth liners fault |

Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. |

You could tell that Ratcliffe knew it went off his skate, but he meekly deferred to the scary mustachioed veteran.

The only top 9 player with a lower ES GF% than MacEwen is Hayes, who has been struggling with injuries.
Frost, for example, is doing much better at ES than MacEwen, and yet he was sent to the AHL while Zack played his 44th straight game. Gee, I wonder why the Flyers are one of the worst teams in the NHL. |

He's a fourth liner. Everyone knows that. He brings it every game and is fun to watch. Last night was probably his best game of the season. I enjoy watching him play. Were the Flyers a better team his fancy stats wouldn't even be brought into question because he's a fourth liner.

If I recall SV was commenting on it because he knew Hart was better than that and needed to make changes to get back to what he really is. SV wasn't saying Hart sucks.
