Hey Loadsey, apparently Halak did not, in fact, earn his bonus last game. 10 starts, not 10 games played. He’ll earn it next start. |

At least they are cutting a swath though our competition. Only one multipoint game in their last 8 wins and that was against us. |

Diversity is fine and yes overdue . But you don't binge hire to make up for years of mistakes.
I agree with Ruebey about Jennifer Botterill . I have seen enough of her to know she is great at what she does . Her dad's background kept her in the game and her finger still on the button.
I think Granato is the best female hockey player ever , next to Wickenheiser of course , but does not make her a great scout. Same as I don't think Sedins are a great choice.
I don't care if it is male or female , just make sure they know what they are doing and will be great at it. - VANTEL
You were unwilling to cheer for them as players, so no change there really. |

Just searched and nothing came up about Wickenheiser saying story was inaccurate. Help us out and find this story please. As far as Americans denying stuff... well... where do we start on that topic.

But there was 315,234 pages when the Sedins were hired. Truthfully I never even heard of Clancey until a few weeks ago. He flew under my radar.
Again any single hiring would probably go unnoticed . Canucks have basically built their management group in the last three weeks. So of course there will be a lot of pages. - VANTEL

Point taken .
Counterpoint is if Francis took the better picks than what she suggested, I would hate to see her list of recommendations then. - VANTEL
I think it's pretty clear at this point that the Kraken weren't built for this year. So given that, it's impossible to know today if that vision will pan out. But obviously with even a few months of hindsight (or even at the time), you could draft an infinitely better team by taking on some star with some salary.
Personally, I thought it was crazy not to take Tarasenko and Landeskog. |

2 points awarded, not 3, except for the game against Vancouver where they won in OT, so the other teams the Canucks are chasing didn’t gain points against the Flames.
Maybe take out the lifts, the air up here must be a little thin for you. |

Allvin Castonguay and Granato have all been hired in the last three weeks. Therefore the three week binge hiring comment. Catonguay is the oldest hiring dating back to Jan 24 2022

I don’t think he understood you.
I think it’s valid to question the individuals chosen, and also valid that there will be more chatter now, given the splash of new faces.
I wouldn’t however be concerned with the number of new people who have “stepped up”. The old regime had no real leadership, even with Linden in the fold. Now there are experienced people at the top of both the management and coaching departments. I’m not saying things will be great, but there seems to be more, varied experience now, which I think will help. |

It is almost as if he is hiring his staff, shocking stuff. Rutherford is a real rogue with this whole hiring people thing. I know im shocked by all this president hiring a gm and agm business, crazy. Total binge. |

I have said a few times it is a clean slate wait and see. I also said there are a lot of similarities in the last three regimes.
I know the new group will have a lot to fix from the old group, the same as the old group had to fix a lot from the previous ones.
Benning came across as a real idiot with a horrible appearance , I understand why people want him gone .
There are no miracle fixes and the new group will have to do the same thing that the last group did to try to improve , but will sound more professional in the process.
There are a lot of wishful fans right now putting their trust in a very inexperienced group.

It is. It is.
Vintage summed it up nicely. 8 wins in their last 10. 5 or 6 wins against conference opponents. Only gave one extra point away in the process.
If we are trying to get closer to a playoff position, we need everyone else to lose outright. It would help us greatly if one or two teams started to dominate in the conference down the stretch. If teams aren't gaining points then at least canucks have a bit of control over making the playoffs. Just keeping winning.
Edit: it was also a lame attempt at trying to take the sting out of Calgary winning. |

I really can't see this team making up the 7 point difference for a playoff spot.
Just read your edit, I think I am one of the few on here, who doesn't mind Calgary. Rather see them win the division, if the Canucks can't win it. |

The biggest difference, is that the last group took a two time presidents cup team, albeit with no prospects to speak of, and was terrible, and made a lot of mistakes, leaving a mess. This new regime gets to start with some good young players and some actual tradable veterans. Even if they only do ok they will look like geniuses in comparison |

Ignore experience & inexperience…
3 fired Pres GM & AGM
6 hired Pres GM 3 AGM’s & Analytics. Front office no longer skinny.
No roster moves have been made. JR has asked for best offers & will listen. This is a TDL ploy to create a market. Gets a great offer from a team(s) then can pull the trigger. If not nothing is lost. It then goes into the offseason when ALL teams have cap & do their retools/rebuilds & the haggling starts again. |

Was it steak knives that the President's Cup winner gets?
Gillis drained the cupboards and let the team age well past the due date. He also locked them in making it even more difficult to wheel n deal. Big deal we won a lot of regular season games in a weak division.
JR reminds me a lot like Holland . A couple of cups , getting on in age , and on the back slope . JR was no where near as good as Holland when it came to drafting but had a similar style pulling the trigger to make moves. Seldom idle.
Holland when he left handed the team to Stevie Wonderful who has made a couple of very good selections over the years but is still not near a Cup team.
As recently as tonight I seen people in here ridiculing Holland.
JR said two years away but I think in two years we will still be debating whether to move Petey and Bo and who we can dump to get cap room.
I have no faith in Canucks drafting at this time but we will see.
