There's no sign so far that Calgary is making any progress in resigning him. Montreal would have to find some additional cap space but that shouldn't be a dealbreaker (think creative use of LTIR).
Besides the reasons that Lebrun mentions, Montreal's a lot closer to his home in New Jersey than Calgary. And last but not least, his name almost makes a deal seem irresistable. Non?
