If there’s one thing the flyers have shown they are willing to do is move on from a mistake i.e. Bryz.
It may sting but we need to buy out Kevin Hayes. He will never return to the way he played in year 1. Book it.
I heard rumblings last year that the team was divided - giroux clique and Hayes clique. Buyout Hayes, ship out Yandle and find a taker for Konecny. Say goodbye to JVR, Brassard etc.
Don’t trade Giroux. Have him stay on a team friendly cap hit. I am not done watching him with Atkinson. I want to see these two on the flyers for the next 5 years. With the right supporting cast I think you can win with them.
If you can’t get a first rounder for Risto then go forward with Ellis, Provy, Sanheim, Risto, York, Zamula and if Braun is slotted correctly then keep him too.
I wanna see Allison and Mcewan as our new bash brothers - black_francis
Putting any hope in Allison may be a bit of hope against hope. Kid is made of glass as well as being cursed.

If Team USA wins gold I could see the Flyers making Quinn their next head coach. He’s never had any success in the nhl and has the Boston connection. Perfect fit. |

it seems as though you are lacking facts. First of all I don't know of anyone nor have I read any NHL pundit labeling Hextall as a great GM and drafting guru. That is complete hyperbole on your part. Clarke was just trying to protect his buddy and his actions are another example of why this franchise is in the position they're in. So applaud him all you want. Hextall was a Vezina trophy and Conn Smythe winner, a 5 time all star and a member of the Flyers hall of fame. He is an NHL exec and team GM. Yea, what a loser.
This is just another in a long line of poorly thought out posts from you. - MJL
Since I am an actual die-hard Flyers fan, you know, since the origins, BC is my idea of a FLYER.
To compare the awards that he and Hextall won, both as individuals and as teammates , is straining the old credulity as to being comparable.
That's a very long runway to taxi down and it doesn't fly anyway. |

Chuckles will be successful at this years deadline? What makes you think that? History tells us he will get bent over by every gm he talks to - corduroy
Exactly...and even if he would pull something off
no matter what
even if he landed Jesus himself
Mr.MJ I will ban you and his ilk will be here to rail on the minutia of it, with his usual genius!

Not sure what you're thinking. There wasn't anything in that post that was comparing Bobby Clarke and Ron Hextall. Perhaps take another shot at it. |

That is your version. Since the GM still works for the organization he will not criticize him. When Chuck is canned if asked I have no doubt Clarke will give an honest assessment.
He told the truth about your Dad and it upsets you. I get it.

They will not be a playoff team next season so no need to buy of Hayes at this time. Nor buyout JVR before someone brings that up.
Be foolish to not trade CC. This team and organization cant move forward until he is gone. He is part of the stink that permeates on this team. It has nothing to do with his skill or talent.
You do not bring back RR at all. Cut your loss and take what you cant get. That is what a good GM would do. There is zero chance Zamula and York will both be in the starting 6 next season.
You do not count on Allison at all. Do not even factor him into any plan. If he does factor in then you adjust at that time. Zac stinks need to move along. He does nothing to help the team. 13th fwd sure whatever. |

I still do that from a flyers perspective.
this top flight center prospect who can be inserted out of the box type deal simply isnt a reality.
giroux was great but its asset collection time now.

I’m fine with a 1st and 3rd, which is right around the going rate for a rental of G’s age and talent.
Even if it somehow was only two 2nds as the best offer they still need to make the deal. |

The Flyers bought out Bryz because they got a get out of jail free card. He had no cap implications. Hayes does. A buyout would be something that sets the Flyers back significantly. Hayes has 4 years left on his contract a buyout would stretch that out until 2029-30 season. That would put Philly on the hook for 3 years of 4.6 mill, 4 years of 1.5 mill and 1 year of 2 mill of dead cap space over that time

PHI scouts at COL AHL game. Reports suggest Flyers looking for: 1st round pick, Roster player and top prospect for Giroux. Avs do not have a 2022 1st so it would be a 2023 pick |

It's important to note that the first 4 years of the buyout would see cap savings.

Yes, he is a 5 all-star .. Whoopie!!! How many Cups did he win? Don't forget in 1987 the Flyers had 1-0 lead on Edmonton in game 7, what happened after that? Many people on this form including you have defended Hextall up and down over the past few years, up and down, left and right! But the fact is there is no defense for the decisions Hextall made and the way he ran the organization. And sure, of course you would claim Clarke was only trying to protect Fletcher, because you will never lift your head out of the sand and admit Hextall set this franchise back for years with the poor drafting and developing he did in his 5 years here. |

If he does, I will be the first calling for his head. The Flyers have a BIG opportunity here and they cannot in any way afford to miss it! Doing so will set this franchise back a decade IMO. However, that being said, I like and support Fletcher and I really hope with the additional voices, scouting and analytics at this disposal he and his staff in COLLABORATION (something apparently the previous GM would not do) will make the right decisions. Fingers crossed. |
