Taryn really talking about other teams losing and the Flyers opportunity to grab two points on them today.

Like a store owner saying they are doing swell, and the day after they are out of business šŸ˜‰

Have errands to run, so won't be watching the game today, but my observance so far is that teams have absolutely no fear of crashing the Flyers net(especially with Risto out). I'd start this trading season by packaging the two Travis's. Yes, Sanheim and Konecny....gum bye!! Seen enough of these two and this should get the ball rolling into a better tomorrow!!! Thanks again!

2 hits in 10 minutes certainly seems like a hungry team. That intense practice looks to have paid off

With Risto out they really have no bite at all šŸ¤®

Bill, I haven't heard much about desnoyers lately. How is he doing down in his league?! Is he still scoring at will and playing great hockey?!

He is someone to watch

Anybody else watching the Detroit broadcast? They are pretty fair in their assessments of the game. Even they are almost bewildered by the Flyers defensive zone play

" The Flyers just keep throwing the puck around the boards, there's no actual breakout...I have no idea what they're doing..."

"Again, the d-man gets the puck and he just throws it up the boards and out, turning it over. Why just keep basically giving it away...."

Problem is hes a 20 year old junior playing against a lot of younger players, similar in numbefs to NAK who has bombed as a pro. Bill, can you compare these players?

Itā€™s a big deal for Dallas to stay in the race and keep pavelski. They won last night, I canā€™t imagine them falling off so hard and trading him. That may help Girouxā€™s return to keep him off the market

When are the Flyers going to start selling James Harden jerseys just to boost revenue?

But at least heā€™s producing at that age. NAK hasnā€™t had his production in jr translate as much to the pro game all though his production has almost doubled in Coloradoā€¦

Crossing my fingers, it would be nice to see a pick translate to a a solid NHL wing.

Hockey flourish (max chances of winning cup) or business flourish (max revenue for club under boss's dictates)? Hockey is not capitalistic in the former. There are structural barriers. It is fairly capitalistic in the latter (not internally but externally - it is capitalistic like a cartel (like OPEC)).

We sports fans have only two stations on our dial: adulation and flagellation. The station called reflection (as in, can hockey moves be explained based on what the market of us fans have the tolerance for?) is missing. That frequency might provide the best explanation for CF's moves (Hayes/Niskanen/Risto/etc).

Much of the criticism he gets for York/Frost etc is just flagellation. These moves would not even be an issue of the same club was winning.

- PT21

Actually your entire post is flagellation. Fletcher's only job is to build a quality hockey team within the budget he is given to work with. How that money is spent and for what is his decision for the most part.
Context is always important. If he club was a contending championship level team with a quality defense 6 deep. Then of course there would be no complaining about keeping York in the minors. Since they're not, then the number one goal of the team is to develop players and build for the future. They think they're doing the right thing with York. I disagree with them.
