I don’t think TK got hurt but I may have missed something.
Nothing in Brassard other than he wasn’t ready to go. - hereticpride
Yeo said he was sore after the previous game so he decided to give him a few more days rest just to be cautious. |

Well, that’s better than the alternatives.

This team has been mismanaged for 10 plus years. No reason to expect that to change any time soon. It shouldn't be this hard. They cannot judge talent, their coaching has been awful. I guess tge hockey gods are taking revenge at long last for the bullies - DANCER
Absolutely agree here! We are now the "lowly flyers." So depressing to see what this team has become. I've seen many bad teams over the years but this group is pathetic.

That’s what scares me. Fletcher has a long track record of being ineffective at managing a hockey organization - Shrike
we'll find out in the next month if they're competent enough to turn this around |

i find it hard to get to upset with the team since they're playing to expectations now
i expect fletcher to make trades and for us to be in the top 5 at the end of the season - 2Real

It’s amazing with how crappy this team has been they’re still likely picking 6th or 7th right now. - hereticpride
Ottawa and Buffalo are 2 points back with games in hand. We can ideally drop as far as 4th if they pass us. We have 1 game on Seattle but they are 2 points back of us as well. 3rd is potentially the best we can do before the lottery. Habs and Coyotes are just too bad. MTL about to hit 10 game losing streak. We only play MTL two more times so they can only gain 4 points beating us |

MJL you actually archive your posts? Must say I find that a bit, um, unusual. - DANCER

If there’s one thing the flyers have shown they are willing to do is move on from a mistake i.e. Bryz.
It may sting but we need to buy out Kevin Hayes. He will never return to the way he played in year 1. Book it.
I heard rumblings last year that the team was divided - giroux clique and Hayes clique. Buyout Hayes, ship out Yandle and find a taker for Konecny. Say goodbye to JVR, Brassard etc.
Don’t trade Giroux. Have him stay on a team friendly cap hit. I am not done watching him with Atkinson. I want to see these two on the flyers for the next 5 years. With the right supporting cast I think you can win with them.
If you can’t get a first rounder for Risto then go forward with Ellis, Provy, Sanheim, Risto, York, Zamula and if Braun is slotted correctly then keep him too.
I wanna see Allison and Mcewan as our new bash brothers |

Next 3 games are Penguins, Caps, Canes. Time to go streaking again.
This season can't end soon enough. |

Yes, I can see another 10 game losing streak on the horizon for sure. Actually for me though, the trade dead line can't come soon enough. |

The Makar (or Heiskanen, actually) thing is not revisionist hstory. Chris Therien and I were upstairs at the Skate Zone shooting the breeze with a Flyers scout several years ago -- while Patrick was still very much part of the plan here -- and he told us the consensus was that the defensemen were going to be better NHL players at their positions than Patrick as a C. Hexy (and, I guess, Sarge) were homed in on Patrick. But the same scout pointed out that the internal ranking in 2011 had Brodin at the top and that Homer (right after trading Richards and Carter) insisted that it be reconsidered (Couturier then moved to the top). This discussion was after Couturier was coming off a 30 goal season. The scout noted that 2011 worked out great and that Patrick could ultimately justify Hexy's decision.
The only real difference was that Homer involved the scouts (a less favorable description would be "twisted arms") to get another discussion where Couturier being a C got him a little stronger consideration whereas Hexy allegedly just went with his own gut feeling that Patrick's flat-line development between under-age and draft season was solely injury related.
That's what get lost in the whole revisiting of the 2017 Draft. The GM/AGM get the final say, rightfully so. - bmeltzer
Yes, Hextall and Sarge had the final say, that was their right. And as fans it is absolutely our right to completely crucify them for that pick, because it has significantly set this franchise back many years! Not you, but many laud Hextall as a great GM and drafting guru, but the facts don't come close to bearing that out, this being the most glaring example. Some crucify Clarke for making this public like he did last month, but I applaud him for doing so. Clarke was honest (at least to his recollection) and demonstrated courage which is why his teammates would follow him into a volcano. Clarke was and is a winner, something Hextall never was or is! |

it seems as though you are lacking facts. First of all I don't know of anyone nor have I read any NHL pundit labeling Hextall as a great GM and drafting guru. That is complete hyperbole on your part. Clarke was just trying to protect his buddy and his actions are another example of why this franchise is in the position they're in. So applaud him all you want. Hextall was a Vezina trophy and Conn Smythe winner, a 5 time all star and a member of the Flyers hall of fame. He is an NHL exec and team GM. Yea, what a loser.

They absolutely need to move Giroux for a pick. They need to take all the chances on developing high end talent they can. G is 34 and at this point we will never win with him. |

Chuckles will be successful at this years deadline? What makes you think that? History tells us he will get bent over by every gm he talks to |
