Honestly, Jones played with Schneider the whole time in the AHL, I dont know why they dont just let it roll. Jones has clearly shown he can keep up and play at the top level. - aecliptic
Said that in the column and why I think they are reluctant to go that route. But, I would roll with it over the next few weeks and see what happens. |

They need to fix the 3rd line, after that they can do whatever they want. |

Upgrading from goodrow on the Panarin line is key. That bumps goodrow down to the 3rd. Then you just gotta trade for someone who can play with goodrow and chytil (or trade chytil) |

Some how weve managed to stay on top of the division and conference with the top 6 we got. Bumping Goodrow is hardly key. We literally have no third line which is why 5v5 we struggle so bad with scoring and overall just holding games down. Thats why I want so badly to see the Rangers make a move for Copp and Jarnkrok. I highly doubt hes available but if theres even a small chance to land Tanner Jeannot, they should definitely give it a look. |

Our top 6 hasn’t been good 5v5 either. Are you actually saying that in a world where we could only either add a top 6 winger like JT miller or Pavs or add a 3C and a 3rd line winger you’d choose the latter? Goodrow, gauthier, and hunt are an insult to the breadman. Not to mention we can and should address all of the problems (top 6 RW, the 3rd line, and bottom pairing LD) |

I would rather play with a complete team than get a top 6 player and still have a 3rd line thats playing 10 minutes a game, and not even trusted to skate in the 3rd period. |

They should look at Giordano. - Ranger71
Agreed, but if the Savard deal last year set the market for middling d-men, Rangers won't be able to afford Giordano who, although declining, is better than that. |

true but I do think part of the price Tampa paid was needing both Columbus and Detroit to retain money on Savard's contract and the Rangers don't need that
that was a crazy deal

I agree with this as well.
I get that undersized Dmen can be exposed in the rough, tough playoffs. But, I'd rather they focus on the 3rd line and roll with Jones. I didn't see anything from him to make me think he's not a better choice than our other current 6/7 options.
Shed Tinordi and Nemeth's contracts. That will help with next year, too. |

if anything about our most recent playoff runs still tells us it's that if you wanna make a long playoff run, you need bodies
there's no reason to shed Tinordi or Nemeth until after the season, there's plenty of cap room for them to stick around as depth
