Petry is an off season trade I think... maybe before the draft.

not an easy contract to move at TDL with terms left and a high salary

- deadpoulet

Depends.

They could eat part of it or take a contract back.

Not impossible, but unlikely until off season.

RCMP arrested 11 people at Coutts border who had access to a cache of firearms with a large quantity of ammunition, police said. Police seized: 13 long guns, handguns, multiple sets of body armour, a machete, a large quantity of ammunition & high capacity magazines.

well I guess the hope is that the player drafting and development will be better under the new management team, the Timmins era is now a thing of the past.

I'm just saying Toffoli was a good player with a good deal

I know people like first round picks but the history is there

Let's hope so!

there are other guys I would've liked to see traded before Toffoli, whose contract wasn't an anchor or whatever, but I understand the move.

the acquiring Pitlicks thing is also pretty funny lol

Toffoli is a good player on a good deal. The Habs are presently a bad team and likely to be so for a while. Toffoli being a good player on a good deal is the reason the Habs were able to get such a strong return which should help towards becoming a good team in the long run. It's good for the Flames, good for the Habs and frankly the real winner here is Toffoli

yeah my thoughts as well, hopefully they'll also be able to get rid of more "problematic" players, such as Petry.

I wonder if this Heineman fella will be any good, from what I've read he's a hard-working player, which is never a bad thing if you want to establish a new team culture throughout the roster.

Petry, Chiarot and Hoffman.

Maybe even Gallagher if you ask me, the window to move him is closing very quickly

I'm curious if there is a market for Savard at eating 50% salary which could just be addition by subtraction

good question. I was hoping I'd eventually be pleasantly surprised by Savard's play but he's only confirmed the doubts I had about him so far, wouldn't be mad to see him go.

it was a fantastic return for a middle 6 player. there is nothing to not like about the deal.

he is not going to get any faster moving forward and seems to be a "move a year too soon" type of guy.

I don't see Chiarot as being a problem case, but I guess the hope is that a bidding war among teams interested in him will fetch a very significant return for the habs.

the habs would take anything for savard. if retaining 50% moves him, i would do it without a 2nd thought.
