I like Podkolzin and Petey together also as the second . They need to find a third piece this summer like Rust Nichushkin Rodrigues .

I think Garland will be moved along with a player like Poolman for Zacha.

- VANTEL

Garland is strictly better than Zacha. Not sure why we'd want to make that move.

All about moving salary. I thought that was pretty clear by adding Poolman.

In that case, why do we think Miller would get a 1st and a prospect.

Maybe a 2nd then.

- manvanfan

Miller? Thought we were talking about Brock

Brock is a very good scorer, the rest of his game is underwhelming though

Seems like a bad move to shed talent in order to move a marginally overpaid player like Poolman. I guess the question would be what do you expect Zacha to re-up for? Because if it's anything close to what Garland makes, it's a bad trade.

Moving Garland makes zero sense IMO. We took the OEL contract to get Garland and dump the contracts of LE Rous and Beags. Garland will be a solid 60 point guy unless you are getting exactly that back then pass.

what are you watching? pace is like 95

It’s called hyperbole pal, the Canucks are still in playoff contention and only on pace for 82 or whatever.

JR: It’s more about what we’re doing. Not what other people are going to do. There’s different ways of doing things. And there’s different ways of being successful. It’s like there’s different ways of winning the Stanley Cup. You can win it with a heavy team or you can win it with a fast, skilled team. There’s different ways of doing things and this is more about us. I mean now that you ask the question I suspect that it will change things a little bit but that was not the reason to do it.
- manvanfan

What is JR referring to here, what will change and what was the reason not to do what?

Buchnevich is a better player. He can PK, better at carrying the puck, better skater while producing at a similar level offensively
- Nucker101

Also more physical.

Right here cost Van the game.

SB: You’re looking at building the best hockey department you can but is there a part of it that is also, ‘I want to do something that will change the landscape on a bigger frame?’ Is that part of it? Or is it strictly really only about the Vancouver Canucks? Because I think it’s fair to say it is important what you’ve done here.

What is everyone's opinion on trading Boeser? Guy isn't worth the money this summer and I would much rather see him leave than Miller or Garland.
- deuce22

1st up he’s signing under his QO. 2nd depends on term to keep friendly. Lastly my issue is his skating & how well he will age. He’s a sniper/compliment needing a playmaker & line mates to get the most out of him. Not a play driver but too often wingers get overpaid.

Canucks practice video, Garland already looks unhappy with his new line mates.

He hasn't been good under Bruce.

Agreed, but remember, Benning took on OEL for Garland. This regime may see things differently regarding Garland.

I wonder why the Canucks haven't won more games.

Arizona and Ottawa are up in 2nd and 5th

Can't trade Miller, he is teams best forward.
Can't trade Boeser, he is a part of core.
Can't trade Garland, the team only just got him.
Can't trade Pouty, he is awesome.
Can't trade Hughes, he is shiny.

Well fuck it then, trade Bo.

yeah, but it seems like he's picking out comments made by different posters regarding different players just to paint a false narrative that canuck fans want to keep this team together.

Fan 1: Trade Brock, keep my boy Garland
Fan 2: Trade Garland and Hog, keep my boy Miller
Fan 3: Trade Miller and Brock, keep everyone else

I guess that means everyone wants to keep everyone!

Truth is that almost everyone wants some changes, but everyone has their own preferences regarding who to move out, plus as fans we have no idea what the hell is being offered for these players

Well lets wait and see. Canucks have assembled a new brain trust so they can acquire a talent like Zacha .

With Boudreau's record since he took over with the exact same roster team would be on pace for 112 points under a full season of Boudreau bro...

True. However optics here are a factor. If the player/pick coming back for Garland is a dud you have still moved 50-60 points out the door for basically OEL lol

Larry Brooks@NYP_Brooksie·Feb 14

1/J.T. Miller's trade value increases only if an acquiring team wants to meet Vancouver's price. There is no law that says the Rangers are now going to throw Schneider or Othmann or Cuylle into the deal just because Calgary may have overpaid for Toffoli.7348269

Larry Brooks@NYP_Brooksie·Feb 14

2/ If Canucks get greedy and do not move him, Miller's trade value will diminish over the offseason when acquiring team would get him for one playoff run rather than two.21167

Larry Brooks@NYP_Brooksie·Feb 14

3/Me, I think if Drury has prioritized Miller, then Lundkvist and Chytil comprise a pretty good return.
