My dad was the "rub some dirt in it" type. Also the type who pushed us to never cry and stuff - and no he wasnt a douche about it, more teaching us to be men (sorry not sorry if that offends anybody). Mom really didn't like it but looking back I have no doubt my old man prepared me for the real world rather than trying to protect/shield me and I love him for being strong enough not to coddle us |

I do find it amusing any time people scream freedom knowing there literally isn't a single civilization on the planet where one is truly, autonomously, free. But I also imagine getting those same people to understand that is an exercise in futility - Takemedrunkimhome
obviously there isn't such a thing as "absolute" freedom, but the term is being so misused that even the definition in the sense of living in a democratic society has basically lost all meaning. and what pisses me off is when the protesters say they're doing this for the freedom of every Canadian. please, go home, get vaccinated, and shut the (frank) up.

public league used to play the semi-finals and finals of the PL championship there and the prep bowl. public league didn't begin playing in the state tourney until after i graduate.
my claim to fame is i played against keena turner my junior year. he literally never came off the field. he played offense and defense. he was their special teams returner, punter and place kicker. he returned a punt to beat us. |

We suspend certain freedoms as the cost for living in a given civilization. It isn't that hard to get but I'd simply ask a trucker a few questions:
Got a driver's license?
Pay taxes?
Obey the speed limit?
Stop at red lights?
Those are just simple examples but if you do them for fear of penalty it's an open admission that you recognize you aren't actually free.
Canadian law to my understanding suggests one person's freedom ends where another's begins. I like that |

i am the youngest of the male cousins who grew up together. i learned early on how to hide pain from those savages. i will say they did make most games by senior year and were loud AF. |

I played an exhibition in high school against an American team who had 14 guys that were division one recruits. Never had reality hit me so hard as it did that game |

yup, it makes so much sense when you see it that way, but sadly these folks are solely screaming about individual rights, while the word "responsibility" simply isn't part of their vocabulary. you have to be pretty selfish and ignorant to actually think we're currently living under a dictatorship.

i had no illusions. i was a decent HS linebacker who was made much better by the monsters we had on the D-line. 3 were D1 recruits and the other LB was too but was dumb as a box of rocks so he missed out on a full ride to nebraska back when nebraska was one of the top teams in the country.

I hate the idea of mandates and anything that infringes on individual rights and freedoms, always have, always will. That said nearly everything has limitations, the simple question is does the greater good outweigh the individual liberties? Either way I've said from the beginning, regardless of what you're protesting or on what side of what issue, almost all protests are (frank)ing stupid. |

We were a bunch of young hockey players built like young hockey players. Their starting rb outweighed every player on our team but two and ran exponentially faster than everybody |

Not sure government giving itself the right to freeze citizens they deem problematic's bank accounts is good for democracy though... |

what do you suggest? remove them by force while their kids are watching? and there's a lot of scamming going on, youtubers making a profit from donations, it's pretty ugly.

If they're gonna remove the mandates anyway...I'd suggest doing it now and ending this thing. |

While I completely agree, in the age of crypto and online donation systems it seems difficult to police where money is coming from and determining who or what organizations or even governments might be financing the situation. So I'm not defending the government's actions, I'm not sure what the solution is to that problem. |

Due to your latest Facebook post containing misinformation, your social credit score is now below 50 points, your bank accounts have been frozen and the police will come and pick you up for reeducation camp shortly. Have a nice day! |

Problem is, they're freezing the money for this protest but not for others. Who decides which protest is "the right kind" and "the wrong kind" ? |

I don't mind them dismantling blockades and removing people who escalate the situation. |

Tamil's aren't escalating. It's block the highway but peaceful. Still shutdown quick. For the Tamil's it's got no issue with escalation.
Again, a lot of stuff that's wrong going on on all sides |
