I really hope Chara and greene are gone after this year and Parise maybe. D would have 3,6,24,8, 2 and a f.a. then they need to make a major splash up front, I'd kill for foresberg or gadreau to put with barzal. After that it rolls guys down the lineup where they fit better cause clutter and Bailey aren't working with Lee and barzal. Someone would need to play off wing as Lee and the other two are all left wings

Yea they already moved leddy and toews so I'd like to see them keep a proven dman and add up front. To retool we need ufas more than picks as picks are a longer term goal. I know both are important but what are we realistically getting for our ufas? 3 round picks? Those don't usually pan out

So a few of you asked me where we are getting first round picks from... if you trade all these guys and get multiple 3rd or even a couple of seconds for a Clutterbuck and Varly. You can package those to move up and get a first. That won't get us in the lottery next year but you can move stuff around to get better picks when you stockpile a bunch.

As of right now the Islanders have their pick in the first round and Avs pick in the second round (they gained the second in Toews trade but gave up the better second round pick getting rid of Ladd. My guess is ours will be a higher pick than Avs.. just a guess) .
No 3rd round pick (Palmieri trade),
no 7th round pick (Coburn trade)..
so yes.. they could certainly use some draft picks.

Yea my point was picks are a longer term approach while they need a retool too. It's not great either way but yes they need to restock

I hear u.. will have plenty of $$ to spend if we somehow get rid of Bailey and/or Palmieri too. Even more if they move Varly.

I don't see Lou signing Martin and Cizikas to multi-year deals only to trade Clutterbuck away. Not saying I'd be opposed to moving Clutterbuck, but I don't think it'll happen.

I know this almost never happens but they could move him and then sign him this summer. I know he loves it where he lives, loves his golf club, schools, etc.

I am also shocked that he has been as durable as he has been after back surgery.

Martin hasn't been that good this year and ross is a younger version of him. One of them have to go and clutter has remained steady

Nothing like a mistake when you can make that same mistake three consecutive times.

They like Bailey. He's not going anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if they re-sign him in 2024.

Lou likes Martin. I'm not sure the Isles could get anyone to take him anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they offer Johnston a contract extension similar to what he has now. That way they can send him to Bridgeport for his full cap hit.

Idk the answer but speed and youth are the new nhl and we severely lack that. Colorado may as well be in another league as well as Florida, Carolina, tampa, Toronto, Calgary

It would depend on the contract. It's too far away to predict, but it wouldn't surprise me.

When Bailey is your top playoff scorer there needs to be changes made. That’s not a compliment to Bailey that’s a sign that you have no scoring. There’s a reason why we couldn’t give the guy away it’s because he’s not that good.
