The extra time off is good for them to say goodbye to their teammates getting dealt in the trade deadline. |

Luke Hughes breaks a 45-year old Michigan record for freshman defenseman goals tonight with his 14th goal of the season. - vlongo4419
I'm a fan of Boeser, and while he's missed time with injuries, there was really 3 significant ones over 5 seasons- 16 games March 2018 for back from a collision with Clutterbuck, I think 13 games for groin in November of 2018, and 2 months for a rib injury in 2019.
Everybody gets a groin from time to time.. maybe the back and ribs were freak injuries? He was only 21 and 22 for these but wikipedia doesn't say much after 2019.
I'd be okay giving him 7.5, but not much more.
fwiw, Garland has been week-to-week with a lower body injury twice in 3 seasons.
I know Garland is a good player, but in the times I've seen them, Boeser just seems to standout more and be more of a threat.
They both play RW, as does Holtz, but I'm assuming they could play left. I could be wrong, but I feel like Bratt has been at his best on the right side.
I won't bother with line combos cuz everyone's been all over this year anyway. |

Holtz with another goal - dmarsden2988
So did L. Hughes, he went the entire length of the ice and faked the goalie out of his jock strap. Love what the announcer said, "This kid is good and he knows it." |

I’m not sure I understand Vancouver’s deal. They have their top 2 centers under contract, a top D, and a top 15 goalie.. all young and signed. Miller is signed into next season, as is Garland, Pearson and Hamonic. I know an NHL team isn’t 8 players, but they have a young core to build around.. but are already past their ELC years. So now they’re going to waste their prime with a rebuild? It’s a tough call. Idk how OEL or Myers have played, but I’d be looking to somehow unload one of them, bring back Boeser, and sign a solid winger and/or another D. They have 4 mil coming off the books in buyouts, plus unloading one of those D.. frees up over 10m to work with. |

Hope he goes professional next season, he's already too much for NCAA. |

I don't think he will, and he probably shouldn't. After their dads' comments about how he regrets Jack not following Quinns route of going to college for a few years, I'm like 95% certain Luke will stay in Michigan for another year.
He needs a ton of work defensively, which is why he looked so bad in the short WJC tourny and wasnt considered for the Olympics, so it's probably the best option. It'll be his blue line next year and he'll finally start getting top pairing minutes and 1st PP usage with Power gone. |

Luke and his family have stated repeatedly that Luke is committed to 2 years of college similar to Quinn. Can that change, sure, but doubtful. He will be a difference maker in the future in the NHL, but next year not so much as Devs will not be so good. Lets bring in Holtz and perhaps Walsh as rookies next year. Following year Luke and whoever we draft this year (unless we can trade pick for Knight or Askarov....). |
