He is an asset who can be flipped. Or a way better idea is to play the RHD and flip Rathbone

Would Kravtsov Lundqvist 2022 1st 2023 1st be enough for Miller?
- nyrangers9479

As I said in the Rangers blog a couple weeks ago, in order to get a player of Miller's quality, Schneider, who I doubt will be included or Othmann, are musts in the trade.
Also, Matt Robertson, Will Cuylle may need to be added as well as a pick or 2.

I’d definitely prefer a quality RHD or C prospect/young NHL player included in the package.

If Chytil wasn’t so poop at faceoffs, I’d ask for him to be thrown in as a 3rd or 4th piece in the deal as a buy low. He was good under Quinn but I don’t know if any NHL coach will trust him at center unless he improved his faceoffs.

Why do you say that?

This has been a train of thought for many of us fans for decades.

I never complain about getting 1st and 2nd round picks.

I just don't like the players that keep getting thrown into the trades, when there are better players available in that organization. Basically they are players with no future in that organization.
Kinda reminds me of waiver scraps.

Yeah, with the way Rags fans are offering Lundqvist in seemingly every trade proposal definitely is a red flag. I understand the logjam they have at that position but Lundqvist being the unanimous odd man out should mean something

This season, I have watched about 5 Ranger games, Chytil was terrible in all 5 games. He lost faceoffs, board battles, blown coverage and continually seemed to be in the wrong spots, hard no on Chytil, even as a throw in.

Fans of all teams think other teams want their scraps. Our scraps are better than your scraps.

Yeah, he’s struggled big time this season but I liked him last season. But I’d pass too since I can’t see coaches liking him as a Center

If the Canucks do move Miller, you need 3 quality opportunities to get an NHL player. Whether that be a player already in the league, a quality prospect or 2 and a 1st rounder.
Any combination those 3 should be the return for a player of Miller's quality, for any organization.

I would prefer to get Schneider. More of a fit for what Van needs.
- NorthNuck

I think we all would but it doesn’t sound like he is available

You must be to flip the only NHL ready LHD Van has right now for another RHD when the Canucks has Myers, Hamonic, Poolman, Burroughs, Schenn, Keeper, Bowey, Juulsen.

Go ahead keep enjoying watching Brad (frank)en Hunt play for a few more seasons.

Is a young offensive RHD or LHD a bigger need?

imo if you're trading Miller you HAVE to get quality over quantity. No trading for assets or packages with a bunch of mid-range picks, you need to get a roster player or a surefire high end prospect.

It seems the Canucks really like the kid and he is an offensive RHD. So swap Rathbone for a more defensive minded LHD prospect with size. It’s not rocket appliances right?

Fans of other teams are always reluctant to offer up their best prospects, so I think some Canuck fans are reading too much into that and have been convinced that the return for Miller will be a 1st round pick + a team's 3rd/4th/5th best prospect + a spare part thrown in(2nd rounder, random young role player or meh prospect).

I don't see a PPG caliber powerforward that can play C/W signed at 5M for 1.5 more seasons going for that cheap. Especially since Toffoli was just traded for close to what opposing fans are offering for Miller lol

Myers, Hamonic, Poolman, Burroughs, Schenn, Keeper, Bowey, Juulsen. <--- these defensemen are all right hand shots.

A left clearly without argument. When Brad Hunt gets to play because they are weak on the left side. They are playing right handers on the left constantly.

Back when the Canucks were contenders, I would've happily traded a late 1st + Schroeder + 2nd/B prospect for 1.5 seasons of a Miller caliber player who only takes up 6.5% of the cap(would've been around $4M of the 2011 cap by my rough estimate)

Hell, I would've traded Schneider + for a Miller caliber player to help with that 2011 run. Imagine if Gillis actually acquired Jeff Carter by going all-in back then, it's possible that this franchise has a Stanley Cup right now

I'd happily pay that price even if it means no Bo
