How did nobody react?😡😡😡what a bunch of gutless pansies. “Wake up team! They just took out your best defensemen.” - Shuswap Wap
You can thank Benning for the pansies asses in the organization. They even waived the only 2 legit tough guys in the entire organization, Zacmac and Gadjovich.

So even though I hated the JB trade for Miller it has turned out to be the best move of his tenure thus far. I don't just want to re-sign him, but I don't just want to trade him either.
Both have their appeal. A reasonable shorter contract with JTM gives us a better opportunity immediately and likely for the next year or two. Acquiring a surefire prospect is by far the top priority in the trade. Somebody who will have an impact that will continue to grow.
I like this Schneider kid. I'd ask for him, 2022 2nd. 2023 1st and 2nd. Go from there.

Agreed.
My preference is to trade him but if they don't, I hope they build their team around him (and Demko, of course). Both scenarios have their pros & cons. Both have their risks.
In a sense, it's a win/win.

Variables are money/term if he decides to re-sign vs return.
Imo, the return has to be substantial including a can't miss prospect. Somebody who as a young player is pushing the depth of a serious contender. I'd rather trade with the Rags or Avs, so the draft pics aren't as important.
A couple days ago, someone told us that the east playoff race is pretty much over, yet Detroit now sits only 6 points back of Bruins, which is the amount that was used for how close the west was.🤷♂️
