Fans of other teams are always reluctant to offer up their best prospects, so I think some Canuck fans are reading too much into that and have been convinced that the return for Miller will be a 1st round pick + a team's 3rd/4th/5th best prospect + a spare part thrown in(2nd rounder, random young role player or meh prospect).

I don't see a PPG caliber powerforward that can play C/W signed at 5M for 1.5 more seasons going for that cheap. Especially since Toffoli was just traded for close to what opposing fans are offering for Miller lol

- Nucker101

I didn't see his name on the powerforward list that mini posted in the last blog, so I think you must be mislabeling Miller.😉

Laffy, Stuztle, Tkachuk, Svechnikov, Veleno, Walhstrom, Kotkaniemi, Tolvanen, Veselianien, Kostin, Gadjovich, Tippett, Batherson, Comtois, Formenton, Bastian, Duhaime, Kunin, Frederic, Gauthier, Colton, Mcleod, Greenway, Trenin, Crouse, Meier, Eriksson Ek, Blias, Foegele, Bennett, Barbashev.

Everyone agrees with that…except maybe Mini, not sure what he wants

Incorrect, infact, Pavelski's career is the best example. He started playing his best hockey around 28/29 and this will be his first season at or above a PPG. Both are versatile and can play all 3 positions, pp and pk. Miller is worth the gamble, if the deal is team friendly.
I would move Boeser and put Garland with Miller and Bo.

I disagree.

Back when the Canucks were contenders, I would've happily traded a late 1st + Schroeder + 2nd/B prospect for 1.5 seasons of a Miller caliber player who only takes up 6.5% of the cap(would've been around $4M of the 2011 cap by my rough estimate)

Hell, I would've traded Schneider + for a Miller caliber player to help with that 2011 run. Imagine if Gillis actually acquired Jeff Carter by going all-in back then, it's possible that this franchise has a Stanley Cup right now

I'd happily pay that price even if it means no Bo

- Nucker101

Exactly.
Complete steal of a trade.

According to one of the Canucks other sites, the team is receiving calls on Hoglander.
Wonder if he could get a decent defenseman in return.

You weren't smart enough to notice that it was about the future so I didn't go further than the 2014 draft.

Should I have put the 2nd best player in the 2018 draft in there?

I keep seeing Canucks need a RHD . Draft one . Canucks will be drafting top 15 so draft your guy.

He will have 3 years to get NHL ready seeing JR and the new guy will sign Letang 3 x 6.

I would be fine with trading Hoglander for Vincent Iorio put of Washington organization.

I think Canucks will use Garland and Hogz to move money and fill the bottom 6. JR said as much that he has no cap space . You hear names like Kravstov and Zacha . They need to win more face offs and more speed than Chiasson Richardie.

If they create space Letang /Hughes for three years top pairing . Schenn could be a good partner for Rathbone and I see no way Canucks giving up a bargain contract like Schenn.

As Lordy pointed out under Boudreau this team has a very good record. I don't mind this D at all except for Hunt and adding a skilled vet like Letang and a better version of Rathbone will be even better.

Move money , build a better bottom 6 , bring in Letang and Rust and things will be better.

Thanks Carol ! Agreed, let’s keep Miller if he wants to be here

Atta boy. (frank) cycles and age gaps and perceived large hauls. The guy is fun to watch and I look forward to every time he steps on the ice. Good and bad.

I never complain about getting 1st and 2nd round picks.

I just don't like the players that keep getting thrown into the trades, when there are better players available in that organization. Basically they are players with no future in that organization.
Kinda reminds me of waiver scraps.

- Reubenkincade

Wait it out on those type of players when they hit their true value. Cheaper when the shiny wears off & shows the true worth.

Wait it out on what players and not sure there is any shiny to Lundqvist, Kravtsov or Chytil.

Canucks could even retain on Miller if that ends up being the difference maker.

Don’t want any of those without a real top player coming here 1st.
